Provisional list of 36 entries with exciting driver line-up confirmed!

Ten days before the first race of the 2021 Asian Le Mans Series, the provisional entry list has been released. The grid will be made up of 17 prototypes (7 LMP2 and 10 LMP3), and 19 GT3 entries which should deliver intense battles throughout the grid.

Drivers:

Not only will there be a record-breaking grid, but the drive line up will also be world class.

The premier class, LMP2 will see drivers with experience in racing at an elite level including Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship. The Class will also see some very exciting young drivers make the step up to the Class.

In LMP3 the battle will be fought out between drivers with extensive experience, including past Championship winners, those with many seasons under their belts, amateur drivers, and young drivers still in early stages of their motorsport careers.

The 19 car GT field will be a battle between six of the biggest manufactures in GT racing. This battle will be fierce with an impressive line-up of factory drivers taking part in the battle for Championship glory and the much sort after invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

A global grid:

The 2021 Asian Le Mans Series grid will be a truly global one with teams from at least 15 different countries and drivers with 26 different nationalities entered.

For the 2021 season there will be a change to the cars eligible in both LMP2 Am and LMP3 categories. Only the latest generation LMP2 cars will be eligible to race in both the outright and Am Trophy class. The new season will see the arrival of the latest generation LMP3 machines. Four manufacturers were selected by the ACO take the class forward: Ligier, Duqueine Engineering, and Ginetta will be represented on the 2021 Asian Le Mans Series grid.

2021 Asian Le Mans Series Launch

Technical Partners:

Total Racing:
TOTAL is the official fuel supplier for all of the ACOs major series.

Thanks to the partnership signed with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), Total is the official fuel supplier to the FIA World Endurance Championship, as well as the Asian Le Mans Series.

TOTAL has been a Series Partner for the Asian Le Mans Series since 2013. Those endurance championships reveal the best in racing teams: their thirst for challenge, their team spirit and their ability to find innovative solutions.

Total shares and supports these values. For more than 50 years, the Total group has been at the forefront of this efficiency drive in motor sport, which constitute an unrivalled catalyst for innovation in the quest for responsible mobility for motorists the world over. Together, we are going to develop the fuels of the future.

Michelin:

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) places its trust in Michelin, as the official tyre supplier and technical partner to the Asian Le Mans Series. Michelin has a long and successful history of racing with the ACO dating back almost 100 years. After winning the inaugural race in 1923, Michelin claimed its 28th victory and 22nd consecutive victory in the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans last year. It has also been the official tyre partner in the Asian Le Mans Series since it was first established in 2013.

One of the world’s leading tyre manufactures on and off the track, Michelin offers the Asian Le Mans Series teams and drivers’ tyres that are able to deliver fast, reliable and safe performance. They must withstand the toughest of conditions placed on them during endurance races.

They must perform in the extremes of temperatures as well, from the blistering heat of Sepang, to the very low track temperatures in countries like Japan. For Michelin, the longevity of the tyres is the key to success with consistency of lap times and long-lasting performance the priorities. (#PerformanceMadeToLast)
