At around 23:00 local time, 9 hours into the race, a heavy crash occured between the Ferrari F430 from AF Corse and Zengo Motorsport KFT's Seat Leon Supercopa. Driver Tamas Horvath from Hungary was rushed to the medical center. His injuries mainly contained a broken shoulder and keybone, but furthermore he is alright. The Code 60 that was flagged after some 8 hours in the race, was caused by the Porsche 997 GT3 by Besaplast Racing. At the start of the track, the car supposedly spilled some oil wish caught fire. After some commotion, driver Martin Tschornia was taken out of the car, fortunatly unharmed. Besaplast announced their retirement from the race 30 minutes later.M

French driver Patrick Pilet put the IMSA Performance MATMUT Porsche 911 GT3 RSR on pole position for the fifth anniversary edition of the Dunlop 24H of Dubai. In the closing stages of the 90 minutes’ qualifying session, Pilet posted a fastest lap time of 2.02.701 minutes, which was the fastest time of the day and enough to claim pole for the first international endurance race of the year.
