European teams to participate in the 15th Tokachi 24h Race Japan 19-20-21 July 2008

Creventic has good contacts with the organisers of the only 24h race in Japan. This race had no participants from outside of Japan until last year. For the second time they have granted Creventic permission to arrange - for a maximum of 10 European teams – participation in the 15th edition of the 24h race, the 19-20-21 July 2008 at the Tokachi International Speedway.

Creventic can arrange the registration, entry fee, transport of the race car and equipment to Tokachi in Japan and back at a fee of 8100EUR per car. We can also arrange complete travel packages including flights, transfers and hotel for your team.

Entry fee

The entry fee of 8100EUR per car includes registration, entry fee, transport of the race car and equipment to Tokachi, Japan and back.

What can you expect:

Transport from Rotterdam to the race track in Japan and back. The container will be placed on the paddock behind the pitboxes.

This is based on used space for 2 cars (teams) per container. Each team 6m x 2,50m x 2,20m space, there is no 2 pallet rule as there was for the 24h Dubai. Teams should deliver their cars to the port (Rotterdam) approx. 1 June 2008*

The cars will be back at the Port (Rotterdam) approx. 15 September 2008

The transit time to Japan by sea freight will be around 5 weeks.

We can arrange trucking from your hometown to Rotterdam (excluded)

We will help you with your shipping documents (ATA carnet)

To save space in the container, tires will be available to buy on the track. Details, brands and prices will be sorted out later.

* For other origins we will quote the most economical shipping options to Japan.

Not included:

Fuel (± same price as in Europe)
Travel packages
Transport insurance
Personal circuit insurance/ Motor racing insurance (approx. 40EUR per driver)
Trucking from your hometown

Registration procedure

If you are interested in the 24h Tokachi 2008, make a reservation to participate before the 15th of April 2008. You have to pay a deposit of 1000EUR to Creventic for this reservation. After you received all the information and the regulations are clear, you will have to pay the remaining balance of 7100EUR before the 30st of April 2008. If you decide not to take part, the 1000EUR deposit will be returned. Teams of the Toyo Tires 24h of Dubai will have the first opportunity to register for this race.

Catering at the track
Team catering is available in the track restaurant on the paddock and there is a lunch (supper) delivery system. This will be Japanese food. European participants can have western style meals at the track. This will be arranged by the organizers and must be ordered and paid for in advance for those teams who like to make use of it.

Technical regulations

The regulations of the race are similar to the Toyo Tires 24h race in Dubai. All cars who are participating in Dubai, except for the silhouettes, are allowed to enter in the 24h of Tokachi.

Eligible cars:

Production based Touring and GT-cars (no engine capacity limit)
Fia homologated group N and A cars (no engine capacity limit)
Silhouette cars or open cars are not allowed

Allowed modifications:

Restrictions on engine modification: same as Dubai regulations Article 4 of 24h-special: Engine (P36)
Original motor type must be used as written in homologation.
E.g. Electronic motor management ECU (Electronic Control Unit) is free

Exhaust is free. As Dubai Article 5 of 24h-Special (P37) and Noise Limitation as Dubai, Article 2 of Technical Prescriptions (P28)

Carburator is free (brand and type)
Allowed car (body) modifications
Restrictions which as Dubai, Article 1 of Technical Prescriptions (P28).
All wheel mounting parts are free
Class Tokachi 24h-special like Dubai, as Article 16.2 of 24h-special P41-42)
Body work is free same as Article 16.5 of 24h-special (P42)
The minimum weight per class or engine capacity (cc):

At moment, petrol engines only:

Up to 1600cc 780kg
1601-2000cc 860kg
2001-2500cc 940kg
2501-3000cc 1020kg
3001-3500cc 1100kg
3501-4000cc 1180kg

For Diesel engine it will be the same as in Dubai, Chapter III Article 1.4 (P32)

Safety:

A fire extinguishing system homologated by the FIA for Touring Cars is recommended. For all the other cars must be fitted a minimum 3.5kg (one or two fire extinguishers) manual extinguisher in compliance with the FIA technical List No.6 prescription is compulsory (recommended 4kg or 2 x 2 kg).

Sportive regulations:

International C license and International Medical Card required
Minimum 3 drivers and maximum 4 drivers
Maximum stint time is 4 hours, there is no minimum rest time

Qualifying:

There is no qualifying for the starting grid. All cars, with the exception of the Japanese Super Taikyu series, have to send out all drivers of the entry car during free timed practice, and have to clear the target time of 2min50sec in dry conditions. In wet conditions, the target time will be 3min20sec. The starting grid will be fixed as GT class – Super Taikyu class – Tokachi 24h special class and the position of each class will be fixed by the Clerk of the Course and the Stewards of the meeting.

Fuel and refuelling:

Refuelling system is recommended by fast refuelling equipment (drawing 252-7 FIA-appendix J). If you need Normal fuel pump and pistol like in Dubai or at the Nürburgring, it is possible to use at your pit from cans (not common in Japan).

The fuel must be worked by air pressure

Organizer can arrange fuel pump/pistol/cans for you.

Petrol (unleaded high –octane 99.7(RON), Diesel (Japanese standard) will be charged to the entrant after receiving a deposit. Also, when one of your diesel cars use 100% bio-diesel fuel, organizer can arrange fuel about 1500L and pump/pistol.

There is a website of the race and the circuit www.tokachi.org/speedway. Ofcourse all the information on this website is in Japanese. If you need more information don’t hesitate to contact us. The organizer in Japan feel very proud that there is such an interest and will translate the needed details in English and guaranteed 10 entries for the race.

Compulsory advertisements All cars have to put "car number base (48cm x 35cm)". It is including sponsor logo + front screen streamer.
