24H24' 2CV de Spa-Francorchamps / 11 & 12 octobre 2008
Thiry, Jamar, Gaban, Sougnez, Close et tous les autres au départ ce samedi à 16 heures !
Cette fois, on y est... à quelques jours près ! Ce samedi 11 octobre, le millésime 2008 des 24H24' 2CV prendra son envol sur le circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, et pour la deuxième édition de cette épreuve mythique placée sous la houlette du 2CV Racing Teams, on peut dire que le succès est au rendez-vous.
Près de 60 bolides dérivés de la géniale invention d'André Citroën vont être de la partie, preuve que la "deuche" a encore la cote auprès des amateurs et passionnés de compétition. "Au travers de cette deuxième édition des 24H24' 2CV, nous démontrons que cette discipline a non seulement encore un présent, mais aussi un avenir", commente Tony Furlotti, Président de l'ASBL 2CV Racing Teams.
"Après le retour d'un double tour d'horloge pour les 2CV l'an dernier, l'engouement a été fantastique, et bien des équipes se sont remises au travail pour être de la partie cette année. Je pense que nous pouvons être fiers du boulot réalisé, et de l'allure du plateau réuni..."
Un plateau qui comptera pas moins de 21 redoutables Protos à mécanique Citroën, mais aussi 21 Hybrides, propulsées par des moteurs BMW tels qu'ils ont fait leur apparition dans les courses de 2CV ces dernières années. La catégorie réservée aux Améliorées a toujours la cote, avec 11 voitures au départ, tandis que 2008 marquera le retour des 2CV de série, désormais baptisées "Classics".
Ici aussi, l'information circule, et dès l'an prochain, le nombre de petites françaises se dandinant dans les virages de Francorchamps devrait être en nette augmentation ! Etape incontournable de la fin de saison, les 24H24' 2CV ont bien sûr attiré plusieurs personnalités, qui sont d'ailleurs autant de fidèles de ce genre de compétition.
Bruno Thiry fera office de chef de file, et on saluera les présences de Ludovic Sougnez (candidat à la pole), véritable espoir du sport automobile en Belgique, Alain Depierreux le rallyman, Eric Jamar (autre artificier des qualifications... et de la course !), Pascal Gaban, Georges Biar, Caroline Grifnée, Lino Pecoraro, Stanny Linnertz, Thierry De Bonhome, etc.
Quant aux candidats à la succession de Santkin-Luggens-Heckters-Hemroulle, ils sont forcément nombreux, à commencer par... Pour être complet, signalons encore que 11 Smart prendront le départ de ces 24H24' 2CV... mais quitteront la scène à 20 heures, après 4 heures d'effort. En avant-programme, c'est le championnat GDC qui tiendra la vedette, avec une épreuve de 3 heures dont le départ sera donné à 11h45.
Ajoutez à cela la concentration des 2CV venues parfois de très loin, l'entrée absolument gratuite, et vous n'aurez plus guère de raisons de ne pas mettre le cap sur le plus beau circuit du monde ce week-end des 11 et 12 octobre !
