- Maximilian Günther and Alexander Sims miss out on points at the penultimate race weekend on the virtual circuit in New York.

- Günther starts from the front row, but falls back to the end of the field after a starting collision through no fault of his own.

- Team Redline driver Kevin Siggy celebrates his third victory of the season in the Challenge Grid Race and continues to expand his overall lead.

Bad luck for BMW i Andretti Motorsport driver Maximilian Günther (GER) at the sixth race of the "ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge" on the virtual circuit in New York City (USA): After finishing second in qualifying, he started from the front row, but after a start collision through no fault of his own he dropped back to the end of the field and finished twelfth. Alexander Sims (GBR) finished 14th in the second BMW iFE.20.

In the Challenge Grid Race, Team Redline driver Kevin Siggy (SLO) extended his overall lead with his third victory of the season after a commanding performance. Cem Bolukbasi (TUR) finished fourth in the second BMW iFE.20.

Günther spun in the first corner after being hit by Neel Jani (SUI, Porsche) at the rear. He then had to let the entire field pass. Afterwards he fought his way back to twelfth place, but like Sims he remained 14th without points. The victory went to Stoffel Vandoorne (BEL, Mercedes).

In the Challenge Grid Race Siggy quickly pulled away from pole position and drove a lonely race at the front. With 129 points, he is now leading the overall standings with a comfortable lead. In his only second race in the colours of BMW i Andretti Motorsport, Bolukbasi barely scraped past the podium in fourth place.

The season finale will take place next weekend. Then, there will be one race each on Saturday and Sunday.

Reactions to Round 6:

Maximilian Günther (#28 BMW iFE.20, race result: 12th place, overall standings: 73 points):
"After such a good qualifying and a good start, it is of course a great pity to be thrown from behind in the first corner. Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time in previous races that I was hit by competitors in a promising position.

But I won't give up. On the final weekend I'll attack again and give everything to get some good results again. Today I didn't have a chance after the accident. My car was so badly damaged that my steering wheel was completely crooked. I couldn't get more than 12th place."

Alexander Sims (#27 BMW iFE.20, race result: 14th place, overall ranking: 1 point)
: "That was fun again. I got through the first corners very well from the start and was already in tenth place. Unfortunately my car was damaged after a wall contact and I couldn't hold the position. In the course of the race I let Maximilian pass because he was simply much faster than me. ´

It's too bad that he had such a difficult race. Normally, I don't get into the situation in the simulator of being in front of him and being overtaken by him.

Kevin Siggy (#28 BMW iFE.20, Team Redline, 1st place, overall ranking: 129 points):
"Everything really went perfectly. Fortunately, I got away well from pole position at the start and was therefore not involved in the big crash in the first corner. From then on, I did a few fast laps to quickly distance myself from the others. That worked great and I was able to bring victory safely to the finish at the end".
