Highlights from the Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg presented by XM Satellite Radio will air this weekend on Eurosport2 and Germany's DSF as the American Le Mans Series continues to expand its worldwide television reach.
DSF will air a 32-minute highlight program, produced by long-time Series partner Greenlight Television, from Round Two of the 2008 American Le Mans Series starting at 18:30 to 19:00. Central European Time on Saturday, April 12. The German audience will have much to watch as Audi Sport North America and Porsche's Penske Racing went head-to-head with Audi's Marco Werner and Lucas Luhr winning overall as Luhr passed Romain Dumas for the lead with three minutes left.
Dumas and Bernhard salvaged an LMP2 victory, their eighth in a row to extend their all-time Series record. Olivier Beretta and Oliver Gavin won in GT1 for Corvette Racing while Tafel Racing scored its first Series victory with a GT2 victory for Dirk Mueller and Dominik Farnbacher.
A Greenlight-produced package also will air on Eurosport2 between 18:00 and 24:00 on Sunday, April 13 depending on other network programming. Eurosport2 reaches 28 million pan-European satellite households in 43 countries including England, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Russia, and offers coverage in 11 different languages.
The addition of DSF, Eurosport2 and Sport Italia (which also airs a highlight package from Greenlight) has pushed the Series' potential global television audience to more than 600 million households.
The Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach, Round 3 of the 2008 season, is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. PT on Saturday, April 19 from the famed Long Beach street circuit. ABC will broadcast the race from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 20. XM Satellite Radio will provide coverage on Channel 144 from 7 to 9 p.m. ET Saturday, April 19. American Le Mans Radio will have live coverage of the race at americanlemans.com, which also will feature IMSA's Live Timing & Scoring.
SPEED Latin America will have live international television coverage. In addition to the Eurosport2, DSF (20:00 on Saturday, April 26) and Sport Italia highlight packages from Greenlight, MotorsTV will broascast the race starting at 8:30 p.m. CET on Sunday, April 20 in Europe.
