At the jobvector career day at BIOTECHNICA
At BIOTECHNICA 2008 in Hanover, many motivated and highly qualified natural scientists will be around looking for new challenges! On the jobvector career day, the companies taking part can counteract their talent shortage. Applicants will find new job perspectives in the life sciences.
The lack of qualified employees cost the German economy 18,5 billion Euros in 2006. That's one of the results of a study by the 'Institut der Deutschen Wirtschaft Köln'. Leading consultants say that the lack of personnel in the natural sciences cannot be made up for. 'To find highly qualified employees, it's
more important than ever to build up an attractive employer brand,' says Dr. Eva Birkmann, jobvector's CEO, the leading specialised career platform for natural scientists in the German speaking countries.
That's why career entry and career advancement play a central role on the jobvector career day on 9. October at BIOTECHNICA 2008. 'Applicants - from graduates to experienced professionals - learn here everything about the latest trends and career perspectives on the job market,' says Birkmann. 'At the same time, we can support the difficult search of the exhibitors at BIOTECHNICA for qualified employees.'
Central contact point for applicants is the jobvector career stand. That's where they find everything that's important in terms of career: from the latest job adson the jobwall to individual advice and all kinds of information on the job market. Visitors get the great chance to get to know the fast-growing companies personally on the jobvector-'Jobtour'.
At the jobvector career stand and at the stands of companies who are taking part in the jobtour, applicants can talk to HR managers straight away and leave a first good impression. To give a better orientation and to help with planning the tour, all companies taking part present themselves in the accompanying brochure 'Tourguide'.
Up to now, the following companies already take part in the jobvector jobtour: Eppendorf AG, Hexal AG, Innovex GmbH, Invitrogen Ltd., Miltenyi Biotec GmbH, MKM Außendienst GmbH, Olympus Europa GmbH, Qiagen GmbH and Sandoz GmbH. Thermo Fisher Scientific shows special engagement by sponsoring the jobvector career day at BIOTECHNICA 2008.
The jobvector forum offers a comprehensive programme of talks and lectures on jobs and careers in the life sciences. Big and medium-sized companies from the sectors pharmaceuticals, biotech and chemistry present career ways and career entries into their companies on the forum.
The 'live job interview', in which an experienced HR manager interviews a graduate, is a 'must' for every young professional. In the discussion afterwards, the applicants can ask questions. That will help applicants to deal with their timidness regarding future interviews.
The jobvector-check offers an individual application check. Scientists bring their applications and get them checked free of charge in small groups for strengths and weaknesses - and they get useful tipps on top of that. Applicants interested in taking part should therefore register as early as possible on www.jobvector.com/biotechnica.
BIOTECHNICA offers visitors of the jobvector career day on the 9. October 2008 reduced entrance fees.
