Forscher der Technischen Universität Wien (TU Wien) http://tu-wien.at haben eine neue Methode des Einbaus von Antennen in Autos realisiert, die den kommenden technischen Herausforderungen gerecht werden soll.




Telekommunikationsexperte Gerald Artner und sein Team haben eine Antennenbox aus karbonfaserverstärktem Kunststoff entwickelt, die sich im vorderen Teil des Daches, nahe der Windschutzscheibe, einbauen lässt.

"Die entscheidende Frage war, ob man Antennen tatsächlich ins Autodach einbauen kann und realistische Messergebnisse am gesamten Fahrzeug dann immer noch mit den Labormesswerten vergleichbar sind", sagt Artner.



In Kooperation mit dem Thüringer Innovationszentrum Mobilität an der TU Ilmenau http://mobilitaet-thueringen.de wurde eine solche Antennenvertiefung erstmals in einem Autodach verbaut.




Das gesamte Fahrzeug wurde dann in einem europaweit einzigartigen Forschungslabor, der Virtuellen Straße - Simulations- und Testanlage vermessen.



"Wir haben genau untersucht, in welche Richtungen die Antennen in unsere Antennenvertiefung wie stark senden. Wie sich zeigt, bietet unsere Antennenvertiefung nicht nur mehr Platz für eine größere Zahl von Antennen, zusätzlich ist auch die Richtcharakteristik besser als bei der Haifischflosse am Heck", so Artner.




"Die Antennen in der Haifischflosse liefern oft keine hohe Sendeleistung direkt nach vorne, weil sie durch die Krümmung des Autodachs abgeschattet werden. Unsere Antennenbox liefert gerade in dieser Richtung ausgezeichnete Ergebnisse."
