How does digital content find its way on to the Web? How secure is e-commerce? How much money can be earned with online marketing? How can I transform my mobile phone into a fully featured office system? These are just some of the questions on the agenda at 'Internet & Mobile Solutions', the new exhibit category at CeBIT 2009 (3 - 8 March 2009).

Located in Hall 6, it provides the first concentrated overview of this market segment at the show. 'We aim to mirror the massive trend towards computerization and mobility. This will help to establish CeBIT as the No. 1 showcase for the content economy,' explains Ernst Raue, Member of the Board of Management at Deutsche Messe.

'Internet & Mobile Solutions' will be divided unto three clearly defined sections: 'Digital Media Solutions', 'Web Based Solutions' (with special emphasis on online marketing and e-commerce), and 'Enterprise Mobility', featuring applications for the mobile office.

According to Ernst Raue, there were compelling reasons for launching the new 'Internet & Mobile Solutions' exhibit category: 'Digital technology is making an enormous impact on our information society - and we want to reflect this at CeBIT.' Germany alone now boasts more than 70 web TV channels.

The country's broadcast media will soon be governed by a new regulatory framework. One German company in four already engages in e-commerce. Six out of ten enterprises believe that Web 2.0 represents the future. One subscriber in eight uses a mobile phone to read e-mails (source: BITKOM.)

These issues are of direct relevance to the visiting public at CeBIT. 'Our market surveys at CeBIT 2008 revealed that the CeBIT visitors are particularly interested in mobile solutions, Web 2.0, online marketing, IPTV and digital content', Raue adds.

'Digital Media Solutions' will reflect the complete digital-content value chain - i.e. digital content providers and producers, user-generated content, customer retention and the creation of additional revenue streams. The spotlight will also be on next-generation TV, plus new forms of online publishing. Topics such as IPTV, mobile TV and cross-media publishing will be high up on the agenda.

'Web Based Solutions' will get to grips with the underlying technologies and strategies of online marketing. Key buzzwords here are mobile marketing, viral marketing and social marketing. This section of CeBIT will also highlight the latest developments in e-commerce (e.g. shop systems and innovative payment methods). The exhibits on show at 'Web Based Solutions' will be augmented by a series of best-practice lectures.

'Enterprise Mobility' will feature state-of-the-art applications in the field of mobile business processes - for example, operating systems, communication channels, access modes and new possibilities for integration.

'Internet & Mobile Solutions' at CeBIT 2009 will be accompanied by an extensive program of daily lectures.
