Three month after the Spa race, CER competitors are back on the track this week-end in the Nürburgring, for the next to last round of the 2008 season. The few 46 competitors who are signed up to take part in the race confirm the serie success that clearly accomplish its mission to remind the public of the endurance history.
This year serie is extremely competitive and the Nürburgring race will be decisive, before the season ending in Silverstone. Points hunt is open for the top class competitors, including Corentine Quiniou with her Chevron B16, in front of Jacques Nicolet on Lola T298, Guy Lacroix on Chevron B16 and Michel Quiniou on Lola T280.
Once again, Classic Endurance Racing brings together some very nice GTs, with five BMW M1s, several Corvettes, a beautiful Ferrari 275 GTB… And also the highly competitive Claude Boissy's Ford Escort that is a top of results regular.
In the Prototype category, Jean-Marc Luco will get one's Porsche 908 back, a nice way to celebrate the 40TH anniversary of this fantastic car that won the 1000 Km of the Nürburgring five time between 1968 and 1980.
Another 908 will be driven by a famous racing driver: Sascha Massen won the 06' American Le Mans Series in LMP2 category, and the 04' 24 Hours of Le Mans in GT2 categoy. The Porsche official driver will have the opportunity to compare, here in the Nürburgring, the 908 and his actual RS Spyder: forty years of evolution!
