– Achter Podestplatz für Berliner Rennstall
Mit dem achten Podestplatz der Saison ist das Team Mücke Motorsport supported bei Schlüter aus Berlin-Altglienicke am Samstag (4. Oktober) in das vorletzte Rennwochenende 2008 der Formel-3-Euroserie gestartet. Mika Mäki wurde im französischen Le Mans Dritter hinter dem Franzosen Jules Bianchi und dem Briten Sam Bird.
Während der Tscheche Erik Janis als 15. auf dem 4,185 km lange Circuit Bugatti durchs Ziel fuhr, war das Rennen für seinen Mücke-Teamkollegen Christian Vietoris (alle Dallara Mercedes) sechs Runden vor Schluss wegen eines technischen Problems vorzeitig zu Ende. Der Gönnersdorfer, der am Freitag (3. Oktober) Schnellster im freien Training gewesen war, lag vor dem Ausfall auf dem fünften Platz.
„Eine sehr gute Leistung von Mika, von Startplatz sieben noch auf das Podest zu fahren", sagte Teamchef Peter Mücke. „Aber auch unsere beiden anderen Neulinge waren schnell unterwegs." In der Gesamtwertung hat sich Red-Bull-Junior Mika Mäki jetzt auch Rang vier vorgeschoben. Er kann sich ebenso wie der sechstplatzierte Vietoris noch Chancen auf den Vize-Titel hinter dem seit Samstag feststehenden Meister Nico Hülkenberg (Emmerich).
Mäki hat nur acht Punkte Rückstand auf den Zweitplatzierten, Vietoris liegt zwölf Zähler dahinter. In der Rookie-Wertung konnte Mercedes-Junior Erik Janis seine Spitzenposition knapp verteidigen. Mäki liegt nur vier Punkte hinter ihm auf den vierten Rang. In der Teamwertung ist der Berliner Rennstall weiter Dritter.
