...beim „RTL GP Masters of Formula 3" in Zolder knapp am Podest vorbei
Einen sehr guten vierten Platz durch den Finnen Mika Mäki hat es am Sonntag (10. August) für das Team Mücke Motorsport aus Berlin-Altglienicke beim „RTL GP Masters of Formula 3" im belgischen Zolder gegeben. Sieger wurde auf der 4,011 km langen Piste der Franzose Jules Bianchi.
Die beiden andere Mücke-Piloten, Erik Janis aus Tschechien und der Gönnersdorfer Christian Vietoris (alle Mercedes Dallara), kamen in dem Feld der knapp 40 Fahrer aus 18 Nationen auf die Plätze elf beziehungsweise 18.
„Unsere Rookies haben sich in dem Rennen unter schwierigen Streckenbedingungen gut geschlagen. Mit ein wenig mehr Glück im Qualifying wären Podiumsplätze möglich gewesen", sagte Teamchef Peter Mücke. Im freien Training (Vietoris) und im ersten Qualifying (Mäki), das nach geraden und ungeraden Startnummern geordnet in Gruppen ausgetragen wurden, waren die Fahrer von Mücke Motorsport supported bei Schlüter ganz vorn zu finden.
Als es dann um die Startaufstellung der ersten 20 Fahrer ging, waren Mäki und Vietoris gerade mit neuen Reifen unterwegs, als es kurz vor Schluss eine Unterbrechung gab. So blieben für beide die Startplätze 8 bzw. 15. Janis ging als 25. ins Rennen.
Auf der abtrocknenden Strecke haben wir Christian mit Slicks ins Rennen geschickt. Leider wurde es erst in den letzten fünf Runden so trocken, dass er richtig Boden gutmachen und schneller als die Spitze fahren konnte", erklärte Peter Mücke.
„Erik hat im Rennen eine Superleistung gezeigt und sich um 14 Plätze verbessert. Doch im Qualifying muss er sich weiter verbessern", so der Teamchef weiter. „Auch Mika war sehr gut unterwegs. Schade, dass er für seinen Auftritt nicht mit einem Podestplatz belohnt wurde."
Der Berliner Rennstall hatte 2003 das Formel-3-Masters mit dem Österreicher Christian Klien gewonnen sowie 2006 mit dem Schweizer Sébastien Buemi (beide im niederländischen Zandvoort) Rang drei erzielt. Im vergangenen Jahr, als erstmals Zolder Austragungsort war, kam das Mücke-Team auf die Plätze vier und fünf.
