The positive moment of Mirko Bortolotti continues at Varano de´Melegari, fifth round of the season. The Lucidi Motors driver ruled both races after achieving both pole positions on Saturday as well as the fastest lap of race two.
Unlucky weekend for Edoardo Piscopo (Team Ghinzani) instead: he has been victim of an engine problem that forced him to an early retirement during the seventh lap. The second place of race two allowed him to limit damages in the classification, whereby the points to recover to Bortolotti went up to 19.
Bortolotti dominated at Varano and extended his leadership Positive balance for Salvatore Cicarelli (BVM-Target) on the podium in both races and author of the fastest lap of race one. The young Campanian driver stands now on the third place of the classification, first of the rookies.
First seasonal podium for Corbetta by Minardi team thanks to Marco Zipoli, second in race one. The team from Lecco showed a consistent improvement in the single seater´s performances.
Francesco Prandi (Europa Corse) obtained his first points thanks to the eighth place of both manches.
The Italian Formula 3 championship will be again on track in two weeks time at Misano Adriatico for the sixth round of the season.
