Erfolgreicher Start von GTO - Charouz Racing beim ersten Lauf zur FIA GT Meisterschaft 2008 -10 Rennen in 8 Länder -.
Mit einem Doppelsieg in der G2 feierte das erst im November 2007 neu gegründete GTO-Charouz Team auf der traditionellen Rennstrecke von Silverstone (GB) einen sensationellen Einstand. Zwei brandneue Mosler MT900 (über 550 PS) überquerten nach 2 Stunden mit Kenneth Heyer (Wegberg)/ Stepan Vojtech (CZ) die Ziellinie als Sieger. Nur 4 Sekunden dahinter Platz 2 für die GTO-Charouz Teamkollegen Ales Jirasek (CZ) und Adam Lacko (CZ).
„Wir haben in den letzten Wochen fast rund um die Uhr für die Vorbereitung zur FIA GT Meisterschaft gearbeitet, doch mit einem Doppelsieg hatten wir hier noch nicht gerechnet, freute sich Teamchef Wolfgang Koepp"! Der für Mosler verantwortliche technische GTO Berater Andreas Leberle sieht den Erfolg nüchtern. „Wir kamen mit zwei neuen Mosler MT900 zum ersten Rennen, die erst zweimal in Monza(I) und Nogaro (F) getestet wurden. Wir müssen noch einiges aussortieren um kontinuierlich erfolgreich zu sein"!
Kenneth Heyer (D) und Stepan Vojtech (CZ) dagegen waren überglücklich. „Die technischen Kommissare der FIA nahmen unsere beiden Mosler MT900 genauestens unter Augenschein. Dadurch konnten wir nicht an allen Trainingsläufen teilnehmen. Und das nasskalte Wetter ließ nicht auf einen Doppelsieg hoffen, doch am Ende wird zusammengezählt", freute sich Kenneth Heyer, der zusammen mit Stepan Vojtech erstmals auf dem FIA Sieger Podium stand.
In knapp vier Wochen findet der nächste FIA GT Lauf in Monza (I) statt, der in bis zu 95 Länder live im TV übertragen wird. In Deutschland u.a. im DSF!
