28 CARS ENTERED IN THE CZECH MEETING

28 cars have been entered in the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s seventh meeting of the season that will take place this weekend at Brno in the Czech Republic.

Germany based independent team Wiechers-Sport have still to name the driver who will take the wheel of their second BMW 320i car, alongside Diego Romanini’s.

TOM CORONEL STARS IN ROTTERDAM

A few days ago Yokohama Independents’ Trophy leader Tom Coronel starred in the Bavaria City Racing at Rotterdam. Alongside the Williams and Midland Formula 1 teams, the Dutch driver completed a number of demonstration runs at the wheel of his GR Asia SEAT León racing car backed by SEAT Holland. More than 300,000 spectators attended the event, taking pictures and asking for autographs; which proved that Tom Coronel is one of the most popular racing drivers in the Netherlands.

KSO ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNER SERIES

FIA World Touring Car Championship’s promoter KSO, announced a new partner series for the 2007 season.

The series will be reserved for the brand new N.T07 Formula cars that have been designed by N.technology and will be built and produced by Tatuus. The N.T07 will be fitted with a 2-litre, 4-cylinder, 250-bhp engine, gearbox and clutch controls on the steering wheel and has been conceived to be fitted with an hybrid engine system.

Tatuus will also provide technical assistance and spare parts service to the teams. From 2007 this series – whose name will be unveiled later on – will be part of the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s European events.
