Favourable exit for ROAL Motorsports colours at Brands Hatch (UK) in the seventh round of the WTCC championship.
Felix Porteiro and Alex Zanardi got on the podium of race two, concluding respectively second and third right after the winner Alain Menu (Chevrolet). The chequered flag of race one saw the Italian finishing fourth and the Spaniard sixth thanks to a great recovery started from the fifteenth position.
Due to today´s results, Porteiro reaches the sixth place of the classification with 39 points, while Zanardi is twelfth at 29. The present leader, Yvan Muller (Seat) stands at 65 points. After the summer break, the WTCC will be again on track on the 31st of August at Oschersleben, Germany, in occasion of races 15 and 16.

"The result achieved today rewards the great commitment of all the Team Roal Motorsport. We are a very unite and determined group giving always the best to allow our drivers to fight for the podium as well as for the victory. When this happens, as today, the merit goes to everyone, from mechanics to engineers, truck drivers, people organizing logistics and communications up to, obviously, the drivers.
Porteiro has been very skilled in getting a podium that, after the fifteenth place in qualifying seemed to be impossible. Zanardi has been perfect as well, he started from the eighth position achieved yesterday that allowed him to be protagonist in both races."

Augusto Farfus managed to beat Alain Menu to pole position in the qualifying at Brands Hatch, but he had to set a new lap record to do it.
