Following the decision taken by the Motocross GP Commission, from 2009 the riders’ entries will be managed by Youthstream with 10 places reserved for the FMNR
.
After the important evolution of the FIM Motocross World Championship MX1/MX2, the FIM MX3 World Championship and the EMX2 European Championship, Youthstream has decided to bring more infrastructure and television coverage to the MX3 and EMX2.
From 2009 there will be a highlight television programme of 26 minutes of each MX3/EMX2 event broadcast worldwide on the television channels currently partners of Youthstream. This programme will be broadcast one week after each event separately from the MX1/MX2 programmes.
The programme will be divided into equal time for the MX3 and for the EMX2, and on top of the practise and race highlights the programme will also include a big part dedicated to the teams and riders. Organizers will benefit from a one minute postcard with fine images and promotion on their infrastructure.
Youthstream will install a permanent press officer, photographer and paddock manager, and we will install a personalized pit-lane with 20 separate tents (two riders each) with a live-timing screen. In fact from next year a staff of eight Youthstream people will be present at every event in order to increase the quality and standards of these Championships.
The EMX2 European Championship proves its importance as every year many young riders who participated in the European Championship have found their place in a good team in the Motocross World Championship MX1 or MX2. We believe that because from 2009 10 fewer riders may participate to the MX2 World Championship the quality and value of the EMX2 European Championship will become even higher.
A rider will not be entered to the MX1 or MX2 World Championships if they have not already proven their quality in the MX3 World Championship or EMX2 European Championship, some exceptions may be considered only for riders coming from other continental championships.
FIM MX1 and MX2 are the major off-road championships in the world, MX3 and EMX2 are the access roads to these elite championships. Riders, teams and organizers will show their value in these lower-cost but very competitive championships (MX3 and EMX2) in order to make their way to the MX1/MX2 world.
Big improvements have already been made in the media and internet coverage, and on the race direction thanks to the FIM/CMS Race Director and Youthstream MX3 staff.
