FORMULA EUROPA by Liqui Moly - Youngstars at opening in Varano/Italia!

„Veni, vidi, vici" – came, saw and won. Exactly this explained the weekend for Austrian Rookie Dragomir Vuijic. The 19-years old was the first time in the Formula-Junior in Varano. And he still surprised with his Pole for Heat 1 before favourite Otto Birznieks from Latvia. Dragomir Vuijic won Heat 1 – and Otto Birznieks won Heat 2 when Vuijic was in trouble.
After his fantastic Pole Vuijic saved a start-finish win at this first race. Otto Birznieks tried to catch him with everything he had at the beginning, but the pupil killed his tires by pushing to hard. "I just pushed so hard because I want to join him. At the middle of the race it was hard to hold the car on the track.", said Birznieks.
Behind them it was a fight about place 3 between both youngest drivers: Florian Schwarzenbilder and also Max Mayer did a mistake with it. But both could hold there positions at this. Mayer was in the front when they reached the finish. "I didn’t want the lost against him, but my priority was to finish the race.", said Fourth Florian Schwarzenbilder.
Behind these 4 guys Vuijic, Birznieks, Mayer and Schwarzenbilder there was a heavy gap. As Fifth finished Valerij Bercha, who had some trouble in the Qualifying. Drogamir Vuijic saved also both extra-points thanks his Pole and his fastest lap.
Heat 2 was still more dramatic: On the Pole was Dragomir Vuijic again. Max Mayer was second, behind him the young Schwarzenbilder and Birznieks, who fought with problems in Qualifying: "Something was wrong. I don’t know what but I hope it will not be there in the race.", said Birznieks.
When the lights went off, Vuijic got in trouble: The race was started together with the race of Formula-Lista-Junir and the driver before Vuijic let his engine dieing. Dragomir Vuijic couldn’t react and crashed what means out in lap 1 for him. It was another start-collision where Max Mayer and Florian Schwarzendilder where involved. Also Florian didn’t survived lap 1.
So the way was free for Otto Birznieks. He overtook Mayer shortly after the start. The Latvian won race 2 of FORMULA EUROPE by Liqui Moly and he took over the championship-lead as well. Nevertheless it was also kindly for Max Mayer. The son of ex-STW and Porsche-Supercup driver Oliver Mayer reached place 2 and 3. Behind Birznieks and Mayer Valerij Bercha was good to finish third. "I am proud of it but I still have to learn faster the next races to reach the front-runners soon.", said Ukrain Bercha.

Driver of the Weekend:
It is not easy not to chose the championship-leader as „Driver of the Weekend" when he finished First and Second in the races. But in Varano this title goes not to Otto Birznieks, it goes to Dragomir Vuijic. The Austrian had done everything right: The first time in the Formula-Junior and he saves the Pole, the race-win and the fastest lap as well – a perfect performance. Also his Pole for race 2 was kindly but the knock-out was disappointing: "…
I didn’t have a chance." how Dragomir explained. Dragomir, who celebrated his win very with emotions together with his mum, didn’t have the championship-lead. But he wants to take it over in two weeks in Most surely. There will be the next visit of FORMULA EUROPE by Liqui Moly.
