International Formula Master's first of a two-day test at the Hungaroring in Hungary was topped by 17-year-old Swiss Nico Muller, who posted a quickest time of 1:37.713.

The rookie completed 53 laps throughout the day, driving for Jenzer Motorsport, and shared the top of the timesheets with Brazilian Cesar Ramos in the rival JD Motorsport car. Fastest this morning, Formula 3 Euroseries graduate Ramos produced an overall best lap of 1:37.860, placing him second, whilst completing 78 laps.

Following in 2009 IFM rookie Alexander Rossi's footsteps, American Conor Daly tested for AR Motorsport today, after finishing third in the Star Mazda series this season. The 17-year-old son of former Formula 1 driver Derek Daly was third overall with a fastest time of 1:38.092, ahead of Denmark's Mikkel Mac who drove his Iris Project single-seater around the Hungarian track in 1:38.446.

Formula Palmer Audi graduate and fellow Iris Project driver Phillippe Frommenwiler followed with a quickest lap of 1:38.600.

Other rookies featuring in this week's IFM evaluation include the 2009 Formula BMW Pacific runner-up Gary Thompson, testing for Jenzer Motorsport with sixth fastest thanks to a 1:38.618 lap, and top Formula Renault 2.0 Sweden and NEZ finisher Philip Forsman who drove for AR Motorsport and completed a best lap in 1:38.692.

"Considering how big the car is, compared to what I'm use to, it was easier to drive than other single-seaters I've tested and the paddle-gear shift is very interesting. I'm a bit disappointed not to be fastest this afternoon but I really liked working with the team and I'm aiming for the top spot tomorrow!"

"I've been testing several categories in Europe recently as the goal is to compete over here next season. I drove a Formula Renault as well as a Formula 3 and now Formula Master. I have to say the IFM is the best car I've ever driven! It's really well made and looks like a Formula 1 car; it's very professional.

"Testing-wise today, I felt confident straight away and set fast times early on. The paddle-shift gears were easy to use and work really well. I focused mainly on getting as many laps in as possible and competitive times came out of that."
