As four new drivers are announced for the 2008 Formula Master season, the grid is shaping up fast with teams eager to have the best racers join their ranks.
Euronova Racing has now filled two of its four racing seats with 2007 British Formula 3 driver Michael Meadows returning to the team after a two-race stint in last year’s Formula Master rounds at Brands Hatch.
Alongside the British driver is 2006 Formula Challenge Japan and Formula Toyota Champion Yuhi Sekiguchi. The 20-year-old raced in the 2007 Formula 3 Japan Championship, which he followed by taking part in Formula Master testing in Monza last September where he finished third.
The Japanese racer also showed impressive pace during winter testing at the Vallelunga Circuit in December, posting the quickest time on the last day.
JD Motorsport confirmed Bulgarian Vladimir Arabadzhiev as team-mate to Russia’s Sergey Afanasiev. Having raced in the Euroseries 3000 and F3000 Italian Championship during 2007, the 23-year-old Bulgarian now takes up the second of three available drives for last season’s Formula
Master runner-up team JD Motorsport.
Double race-winner Kasper Andersen returns to the Series and joins Trident Racing for 2008, partnering the already-confirmed Harald Schlegelmilch and leaving just one seat to be announced with the new Formula Master team.
"With a mixture of newcomers and drivers already accustomed to our Series, the field is growing steadily," said Series Chairman Mauro Sipsz. "Things are moving fast and as new drivers are announced, the 2008 Formula Master grid’s competitive edge can only increase."
