Ninth and tenth rounds of Formula RUS championship happened at ADM racetrack on 11th- 12th of August these races marked departure of Sergey Mokshantsev and arrival of new driver. Championship leader moved to the next step in single-seater ladder to success. It looked like his place would be left untaken but experienced karter Aleksander Kramarskiy took Formula RUS by the storm and made a serious bid for championship.

Series newcomer took his first pole-position in his first ever race. For rest of driver qualifying was not so easy…

Aleksander Kramarskiy: "Everything worked as I planned, I had one small mistake during qualifying but it not affected my position. I tired to stay calm and it paid its dividends"

Maksim Chernev: "I decided to go with fresh slicks and it was wrong decision. I had some handling issue on this set and with number of tire sets limited during race weekend I settled for what I had, so no fast laps"

Maksim Travin: "I had a new gearbox for this race and problems with gear changing that arouse because of this disallowed me to do proper fast lap in qualifying. Hope it’d change for the better in the race"

Yuri Kim: "Weather was extremely hot and I couldn’t get myself together for a fast lap. Probably qualifying session ended before I found a good pace"

Round 9th of Formula RUS championship was not as eventful as previous races. This time drivers managed to avoid each other in first corner rumpus. Aleksander Kramarskiy from Team Radio Mayak kept lead from the start and with setting fastest lap of the achieved his first Grand Slam. Second place was taken by Maksim Travin, who kept running despite having problem with gear linkage. Technical problem on board of Maksim Chernev car prevented him from finishing this race.

Aleksander Kramarskiy : "Pole position was 50% of success in the race, in such weather condition it was extremely important to pull away from the pack before tires was in optimal conditions. Having done so during first few laps I nursed my tires and controlled my gap from those behind"

Maksim Travin: "In run down to the first corner I dived inside and gained one position. During first laps of the race I was fast and catching-up Kramarskiy. I started to think where I can pass him but gear linkage broke down but I kept going as fast as I could and finished second"

Yuri Kim: "I had problem with visibility, coolant from Maksim Chernev radiators messed-up my visor and I was struggling to see where I’m going to. Couldn’t escape few spins, it was difficult race.

Second race of weekend ran in same style as first one, calm and strategic. Yet again Yuri Kim made superb start and stole lead from Kramarskiy in first corner. As race got going Maksim Travin slowly but surely started to pile-up pressure on race leader and eventually passed him Having messed-up his starting maneuver Aleksander Kramarskiy had to rise the challenge in which he succeed.

Firsthand he passed Kim for second and in the middle of the race he tried to attack Travin for lead. Swapping positions for few times Kramarskiy finally broke free from Travin and went on to win his second race. Maksim Chernev recovered from first race dramas to finish second.

Yuri Kim: "What a start, it was nice to feel myself in front of the pack but I saw Travin car in my mirrors and decided not to hold him – he was clearly faster. In the middle of the race I spun on someone else oil and decided to play safe for the rest of the race"

Maksim Travin: "I was leading in the race when my tires started to overheat and loose grip. I had to slowdown a little but that was enough for Kramarskiy to later Chernev to pass me."

Aleksander Kramarskiy: "I had a slow getaway from the grid and lost two positions in first corner but I was able to get back into the mood shortly. I enjoyed a nice scrap with Maksim Travin and now more than happy to win second race in a row"
