The Moser Medical Group-driver finishes seventh and will start from first row on Sunday
It was an up-and-down first run in Silverstone for Andreas Zuber. The 24-year-old Styrian wasn’t able to take advantage of his third starting position since Grosjean on place two crossed the circuit and thus blocked Zuber. Thereby the Austrian dropped back to fifth place. Following a mistake by Bruno Senna he managed to recapture fourth place but in round five the rear of the Piquet Sport-car broke away and by this spin Zuber lost eight positions.
Zuber: "I really don’t know what happened. Perhaps it was something on the circuit. But our car also is very tail-heavy. We definitely will have to change this for it makes very tough driving this way. After the incident I immediately radioed to the team that I wanted an early pit stop. And this strategy worked out."
The Moser Medical Group-driver came back up to fourth place after all drivers had completed their compulsory pit stop. But the longer the race lasted the more the tyres disintegrated and so he slipped off the circuit while braking for the chicane in round 29 of 36, which had him drop back to seventh place – the very one on which he finished the run.
Zuber: "In the end the linen was already visible beneath the tyre rubber. They were definitely at the limit. But on Sunday I’ll take up the race from first row and hope to score some valuable points."
