Racing Team Edil Cris crews close to the podium in both races of the International GT Open held at Monza.
Monfardini has been protagonist of a heated battle with Lietz for the third place in the Pro-Am race, which has finished with a contact between the two at the Variante Ascari during the twentieth lap. This forced Edil Cris driver to the retirement. In race two Monfardini and Frezza concluded close to the podium in fifth position.
Good performance obtained also by Bontempelli and Cressoni, fourth in the Pro-Am race and tenth in race two, while Bonaldi-Gabbiani, in the occasion behind the wheel of the third F430 Ferrari, concluded both races.
Giancristiano Cavalleri (Team Principal):
"Our first objective was to obtain the third place in both races, perhaps with Monfardini-Frezza in such a way to keep as open as possible our classification. Things didn´t go according to our plans and we will have to fight at Barcelona to achieve the third place."
The team will announce in the coming days the name of the driver that, in occasion of the Vallelunga round of the Italian GT Championship on the 19th of October, will replace Alessandro Balzan, responsible of a disrespectful behaviour toward members of the team.
