RSV recovers hope in Valencia

Domingo Romero and Peter Sundberg are looking forward the next meeting of the International GT Open, which is going to be held next weekend in the circuit Ricardo Tormo of Valencia with the aim of proving with results the sensations from the first meeting of the year, regularly attended by the best Spanish representatives.

The RSV couple faces this meeting after having a pole position and a triumph in the first test of the Spanish Championship, held in the circuit of Jarama.

The sensations from the first races of the season are good, and now it is important to keep them with an as much regular line as possible. Romero and Sundberg started demonstrating the high quality of the preseason in the GT Open, as they were the fastest Spanish drivers on the track during both the training sessions and the race. The next step is to establish a good relationship with the difficult international competence.

Specially the Italian one, what is absolutely an achievable objective for the RSV drivers taking into consideration their performance in Vallelunga. For this reason it will be also necessary to try to finish both programmed races within the scores area, a goal which – for any reason – has been difficult to achieve during the first meetings of the season.

Another aim of the Andalusian team is to put an end to their bad luck in the circuit o f Ricardo Tormo, where they were never lucky in the continental competitions. Last year, for example, an unexpected change in the tyres brand conditioned the car’s setup during all the weekend and they ended with a sixth position as their best result. However, some months later, Romero and Sundberg changed that by showing a brilliant triumph – and a pole position – in the meeting corresponding to the Spanish GT Championship.

The weekend is going to start on Friday with the first free training sessions. On Saturday, both official training sessions and the long race of the programme are going to take place. On Sunday the second race is in the programme.
