RSV brought its performance in Valencia to an end as the new leader of the Spanish Championship satisfied with Sergio Hernández’s excellent performance. The driver got a pole position and together with his partner Peter Sundberg obtained two second positions which could have turned into two victories but the high statutory handicap made it impossible.
On the other hand, Ronald Severin and Ni Amorim achieved their objective and got experience on the new Aston Martin N24. The Hernández-Sundberg couple’s debut could not have been better. Sergio Hernández obtained his first pole as a RSV representative for the second race, and his partner was able to classify the Andalusian Ferrari 430 GT2 in the sixth position during his competed batch. Ni Amorim and Ronald Severin faced the session with the aim of having a good base setup for the Aston Martin, so they did by getting the 19th position starting position in both races.
Undoubtedly RSV drivers have been the main protagonists of the first race. Peter Sundberg made a fantastic first lap. He could move from the sixth to the second position, and by the fourth lap he was the leader. The Swedish driver kept a good rate until he stopped in the boxes in the 15th lap, but it was not enough to make up for the high handicap established by the organization.
Consequently, Sergio Hernández had the difficult challenge of moving up from the fifth position. However, he made an excellent progress, and after only five turns he was already in the second position, from which he could see the chequered flag. Ni Amorim and Ronald Severin faced the race like if it was a test, and they finally end the race with no incidents.

On Sunday Sergio Hernández lost the privileged position behind Manel Cerqueda, but in three laps he could recover it and he started to get far from the rest of the cars. The high handicap from the second position on Saturday put Sundberg in the second position once again, far away from the leader.
The Swedish driver did not throw in the towel and with his strong rate tried to put pressure on the leader of the race, who reached the finish only a few seconds far from the RSV driver who now leaders the classification. Ni Amorim and Ronald Severin faced the race with the aim of gaining experience again, and they finally reached the chequered flag with no significant problems.
The next meeting for RSV Motosport is going to take place on the 17th and the 18th of October in the circuit of Jerez, where the penultimate meeting of the Spanish GT Championship is going to be held.
Declarations:
Peter Sundberg: "I am quite satisfied with our performance in Valencia. We knew Sergio was going to be fast and he made a great job. We fulfilled the objectives we had for this meeting and we leave Valencia as the championship leaders."
Sergio Hernández: "I felt really comfortable with the team during all the weekend and they made a great job. The car works really well and we were the fastest. The high handicap made impossible to win but we got a lot of points for the championship and this is the important thing".

Ronald Severin: "This race allowed us to be more familiar with the Aston N24 and to solve some problems it had. The performance has improved a lot during the meeting and we are going to continue working to make it better in the future".
Ni Amorim: "We have faced the last three races as a preparation for the next season. Our car is the only GT4 in the grill and it is clear that our performance can not be like the rest of GTB. We are going to keep on working for the development of the car and try to get close to them".
