Race two this weekend at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo di Valencia confirmed the competitive form of Scuderia Playteam SaraFree’s Ferrari F430 no. 8 driven by Max Busnelli \ Gabriele Lancieri. Both Busnelli and Lancieri have now scored 60 points this season and are only three points behind the leaders. Meanwhile, the other Ferrari F430 no. 7 finished in 10th place, collecting a few valuable points for the team’s second car.
A good start of the race allowed Busnelli to cash in the advantage that he had built in qualifying. Then it was easy to maintain the lead and to control the race after building up the gap over the cars following him. Meanwhile Tedoldi, started from the eighth row of the grid. He maintained his position at the start and handed over the car to his team mate Kemenater in 12th position. Eventually they climbed up the order to the tenth spot.
Max Busnelli commented, "I am very happy. It’s a great win and a good race that I dominated from start to finish. I believe that we really deserve this result. The boys did a great job. The car was handling well and reacted very well. It was a perfect day with a good strategy. I was able to save a set of tyres. It is a great result for the entire team."
Gianluca Tedoldi went on to state, "I am happy too. This is also the second weekend in a row that we are able to finish in the points. Today, I have the feeling that I drove really well. I was in good shape and the car was performing well. In the end it was important that we made it to the finish without trouble and collected valuable points."
Thomas Kemenater added, "It was a lonely race for me and I had the feeling there was no one there for me to overtake. I suffered a bit today with the extreme heat on the track, but I am happy that all went well. These points are very important for the team."
Lancieri added, "I am very happy because the result is good for the championship and blows it wide open. We really improved the level of driving after qualifying. The team did a great job and Max did not make any mistakes in his first stint. So in a way the hard work was done and I only had to preserve the position. Furthermore there were no dangerous fights."
