After careful analysis of the feed-back questionnaires we received from last years’ participants we’ve made a few key adjustments.
Starting November 1st, as registrations come in, participants will be sent a detailed list of the regulations.
In terms of tires and wheel regulations, the size and number of traction studs will be strictly limited according to the 2006 FFSA regulations.
There will still be a separate category for "stud-less" participants.
All electronic measurement devises for average speeds and/or distances will be forbidden on board all participating vehicles during the race, even if they do not require hook-up to the car. For example: ATB Calculators, Blizz Timing Speed, and Blizz Timing C 200.
All digital display devises are forbidden on board, except for a maximum two stop watches, with the sole purpose of keeping track of times.
In terms of the Regularity Leg that takes place on the ice, advance arrivals will be penalised the same as late arrivals: 1 second = 1 Point.
There will no longer be any fixed penalty for delays in the Consistency Legs. In the event that a car goes off track, into a snow bank, for example, a credit will be allocated in terms of real time during which the car was actually off course.
Each day, participating vehicles driving at an average 45 km/h will start out in front of those driving at an average 50 km/h, with a 5-minute break between the two categories.
Eligibility: Vehicles manufactured from pre-war years through and including 1977 will be admitted in this year’s Snow & Ice competition (extending the range by 2 years).
Group 8: an all new "SPECIAL CLASS" has been created, to accommodate exceptional racing classics from the 80’s, such as Stratos, Audi quattro, R5 turbo… upon submission of a case file to the organising committee
