Imperiale Racing in Monza for the penultimate round of International GT Open 2018

20.09.2018: INTERNATIONAL GT OPEN Imperiale Racing will get back on track this coming weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale of Monza for the only Italian round of International GT Open 2018.

Imperiale Racing will get back on track this coming weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale of Monza for the only Italian round of International GT Open 2018.

After the great performance that confirmed the Italian outfit among the contenders for the driver and team titles at Silverstone, the challenge will resume on the corners of the Monza ENI Circuit in the penultimate round of a so far exciting and spectacular season.

On the home turf Imperiale Racing will be pushed by the cheering of its fans and will line up the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 #63 for Giovanni Venturini (ITA) and Jeroen Mul (NL), the #25 for Riccardo Agostini (ITA) and Rik Breukers (NL), both in category PRO, while the #19 car will be led by Raffaele Giammaria (ITA) and Jia Tong Liang (PRC) in PRO AM.

A perfect setup will be necessary due to the specific features of the 5.793 meters of the temple of speed of Monza. The very long pit straight leads into the first chicane that is a perfect spot to attempt an overtaking move, but special care will have to be taken to avoid contacts especially early into the race.

The Biassono corner is followed by the second heavy braking point: the Roggia chicane, while the following part is more driven and features the two Lesmo corners and the downhill Serraglio bend. The fast Ascari chicane leads into the back straight and the Parabolica corner joins it back to the start/finish straight.

The weekend will kick off with two free practice sessions on Friday at 10:55 and 14.40 (GMT +2). Drivers will face the first qualifying session (Q1) on Saturday at 11:05, while race one will follow at 15:45. Q2 will take place on Sunday at 9:40 and race two will begin at 14:15.

RAI Sport (freeview CH 58) will broadcast the races with a schedule to be defined shortly, while the live streaming feed of both races will be available at and on the social media.
