Definitely Nyck De Vries will get there more motivated than ever!

A first title in a foreign country: this is something important in a driver’s career. Nyck certainly deserved the title of German Champion, given the speed and regularity he showed all along this international series, which is very hard fought. "At each race, I found many pilots I normally meet at major international competitions and who will be my opponents in the forthcoming European Championship. Defeating them on several occasions was certainly a confidence-building experience".

At Hahn-Hunsrück, in the final race of the German KF3 Championship, Nyck immediately found his place amidst the candidates to victory thanks to the third best time during timed qualifying. His performance grew more and more powerful in the qualifying heats, in order to prepare at best the final phase, then the Dutch driver decided to mount his new tyres already in the pre-final. "I think it was the best strategy. I could quickly take the lead of the race and I won. It was an important success, because I secured the title of German Champion 2008".

In the final, however, Nyck did not relax much. On a difficult track from a technical point of view, he led his Zanardi-XTR to success once again and crossed the finishing line with a six-second advantage. Just like in the pre-final, he set the best lap in race. At Hahn, Nyck was clearly the fastest.

"I think that together with the team, we made the best possible choices. I knew my performance was excellent, because I was driving even faster in the final, even though we had mounted the new tyres in the pre-final".

Nyck De Vries won four out of five meetings, and all in a row. A fantastic performance that enabled him to conquer the crown of champion with a net total score of 140 points, against 78 points of his nearest pursuer! "I quickly adjusted to German circuits and we constantly improved the equipment, race after race. I am very pleased with this title, because winning is my objective. But this is just a stage and we must continue along the same path, without resting on laurels. Each race is different and now I must try and win the next one…"

Indeed, next race will be the most important of the season for this young Dutch driver: the European KF3 Championship, which will be held in France, at Varennes sur Allier.

With the title of German Champion almost in his pocket when he arrived at the Hahn-Hunsrück circuit, Nyck De Vries wanted to conclude his Championship by showing all his talent. The young Dutch driver dominated the pack once again, added two new successes to his already long list of victories and logically conquered the crown of KF3 Champion.
