HANNOVER MESSE Worldwide Events Indian tradeshow triad gets off to successful start
- 574 exhibitors participating in premiere events - Power transmission and control technology in great demand
Starting on 4 December 2007, a new offshoot of the successful HANNOVER MESSE based in Hannover, Germany, is about to celebrate its debut in India. CeMAT INDIA, MDA INDIA and INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION INDIA will be opening their gates with a total of 574 exhibitors and 16,700 square meters of booked space.
Indian companies account for about a third of the exhibitors, with the other two thirds coming mainly from Germany, Italy, the UK, Italy, Taiwan and China.
MDA INDIA
With 274 exhibitors and a total area of 6,000 square meters, MDA INDIA is the largest of the three shows. Power transmission and control components are central to the overall quality and efficiency of the entire machine and are of major importance in process and production automation.
The unprecedented boom in the Indian economy, which has continued unabated for many years, necessitates the modernization and upgrading of the country's manufacturing sector and has driven demand for state-of-the-art power transmission and control technology.
German companies alone accounted for 80 million euros worth of exports in the power transmission sector in 2002. By 2006 this had risen to 307 million euros. At the same time exports of control (fluid power) technology from Germany to India will reach similar levels.
Dr. Thomas Christmann, Global Marketing Director at Bosch Rexroth AG, confirms this trend: "Rexroth has been present in India with its own country unit since 1975 and has more than doubled its turnover since 2002. The country is a growing market for fluid power technology.
Considerable contributing factors towards this growth include: the complete standardized assemblies for power tools, the automation of steel plants and wind energy plants, for which Rexroth supplies the transmission technology and hydraulic axes.

CeMAT INDIA
CeMAT INDIA - dedicated to the up-and-coming field of intralogistics - is debuting with 156 exhibitors and displays covering 6,500 square meters of floorspace. With the Indian economy growing by leaps and bounds, the demand for everything related to logistics and materials handling is also rising steeply, particularly in the case of high-performance enterprise resource planning and internal logistics systems.
CeMAT INDIA covers the entire scope of intralogistics, from materials handling and warehousing to packaging and order picking. The major display categories at CeMAT INDIA consist of materials handling, warehouse technology, workshop equipment, packaging systems, transport systems, intralogistics systems and software, logistics services and outsourcing.
Some of the exhibitors at CeMAT INDIA are celebrating a special premiere of their own: Jungheinrich AG is exhibiting at a major trade fair in India for the very first time.
"Now that CeMAT has established itself as the flagship fair for intralogistics it was a logical step for Jungheinrich to take part in the show, especially in a booming intralogistics market such as India." says Hans-Peter Boldt, Leiter Werbung der Jungheinrich AG, Hamburg.
Jungheinrich currently has an exclusive distribution agreement in India with JOST´S Engineering Company Ltd., in Mumbai. The company has been monitoring the Indian market for some time and because of this, along with the additional local knowledge provided by its distributor, Jungheinrich concluded that taking part at CeMAT was a key element in its marketing strategy.
Jungheinrich will be exhibiting electrical and diesel counterbalance forklifts and electric stacking equipment.
INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION INDIA
At INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION INDIA, some 144 exhibitors are featuring the entire range of cutting-edge industrial automation solutions on 4,200 square meters of space. Electrical and electronic components for automation are one of the main keynote themes at the show. Mechanical and plant engineering will also feature strongly - with components for the automation of machines and plant forming a major keynote.
The Lapp Group from Stuttgart, Germany, is staging the biggest individual company stand (120 square metres). CEO and board spokesperson Andreas Lapp, who has also been honorary consul for India since 2001, comments: "India is an exceptionally attractive market. We have been active here for many years now producing in India for the Indian market.
