– „Das Machbare herausgeholt" – Schnellste Benziner-Rennrunde

Das Machbare geschafft: Einen sehr guten fünften Platz hat der Berliner Sportwagen-Pilot Stefan Mücke am Sonntagabend beim ADAC-1000-Kilometer-Rennen auf dem Nürburgring erreicht.
Der 26-Jährige, der sich im geschlossenen LMP1-Sportwagen-Prototypen Lola – Aston Martin des tschechischen Teams Charouz Racing System mit seinem Aston-Martin-Racing-Werksfahrerkollegen Jan Charouz abwechselte, musste beim vierten Saisonlauf der Le Mans Series (LMS) nur die überlegenen Diesel-Werksautos von Peugeot und Audi den Vortritt lassen.
Mücke fuhr somit die beste Platzierung eines von einem Benzinmotor angetrieben Fahrzeugs ein. Zugleich brachte er die schnellste Rennrunde bei den Benzinern auf den Asphalt der Piste in der Eifel.
Den Sieg holten sich Pedro Lamy/Stéphane Sarrazin (Portugal/Frankreich) vor Marc Gené/Nicolas Minassian (Spanien/Frankreich – alle Peugeot 908 HDi FAP). Dritte wurden Alexandre Prémat/Mike Rockenfeller (Frankreich/Deutschland) vor Rinaldo Capello/Allan McNish (Italien/Schottland – alle Audi R10 TDI).
Stefan Mücke, der am Samstag im Qualifying sensationell Dritter vor den beiden Audi war, konnte im ersten Abschnitt diese Position auch lange halten, ehe er einen der Diesel ziehen lassen musste und dann als Vierter das Auto an Jan Charouz übergab. Der Tscheche musste nach einem Crash mit defekter Felge und aufgeschlitztem Reifen einen zusätzlichen Boxenstopp einlegen.
Im letzten Abschnitt fuhr dann Mücke den Lola – Aston Martin ohne Probleme als Fünfter ins Ziel. „Das ist ein prima Resultat. Wir haben das, was möglich war, herausgeholt und unser Ziel erreicht, bester Benziner zu sein. Das Team hat uns das Auto hervorragend vorbereitet", sagte der Berliner, der rund dreieinhalb Stunden in dem fast sechs Stunden dauernden Rennen hinter dem Lenkrad saß.
Das fünfte und letzte LMS-Rennen dieser Saison ist vom 12. bis 14. September im englischen Silverstone vorgesehen.
