...to Red Bull Fans in Montreal

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Driver Max Verstappen brought Formula OneTM fever to downtown Montreal Wednesday evening when the Dutch star attended a media event where local racing fans competed to win a year’s supply of Esso SynergyTM fuel[1].

The three-time Grand Prix winner warmed up his competitive streak early ahead of this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix by competing alongside race fans and his team of engineers in the EssoTM & Mobil 1TM quiz show, putting his Formula One and Montreal city knowledge to the test, and coming out on top!

Verstappen also went head-to-head with fans in the Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge Finals, where the eventual winners, who set a time of 5.13 seconds to change a tire, won a year’s supply of Esso Synergy fuel and the opportunity to participate in a live pit stop practice session with the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Thursday.

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Chief Engineer, Car Engineering, Paul Monaghan, and ExxonMobil Global Motorsport Technology Manager, David Tsurusaki, were also on hand to discuss the teams’ improving on-track showings this season, helped by high performance race fuel and lubricant from Technology Partner, ExxonMobil

Max Verstappen, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Driver
:

“It’s been a lot of fun tonight.  All the guys who took part in the Pit Stop Challenge gave it 100% and there were some impressive times on the board.

Congratulations to the winning team, they totally deserved it, so I look forward to seeing them at the track tomorrow for their day with the pit crew.

Thanks also to Red Bull, Esso and Mobil 1 for hosting the event and providing cool prizes for the teams, at least we know the winning team will be able to get to the track tomorrow after winning a year’s supply of Esso Synergy fuel!

“The team at ExxonMobil are working so hard to support us and to help achieve our goals, and their work allows us to extract the maximum performance from the car.

Their contribution to the team is so important, with continuous developments being made to improve the Esso Synergy race fuel and the Mobil 1 motor oil which we use inside the car.

This all helps us to be quicker and more reliable on the race track, which as a driver is all you can ask for!  The weekend should be positive.  It’s a track I like, so I’m looking forward to jumping in the car on Friday”.

Alex Guerin, Team Ultra-Vitesse, Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge winner:

“Our team is thrilled to have won the Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge finals tonight! We can’t wait to be at the race this weekend and participate in a real pit stop practice session!

It’s the opportunity of a lifetime! Plus, a year’s supply of Esso fuel is awesome for our summer road trips! Thanks so much to Max Verstappen, Red Bull Canada, Esso and Mobil 1.”

David Tsurusaki, Global Motorsport Technology Manager, ExxonMobil:

“It was great to participate in this event alongside Max and Paul and everyone had a lot of fun in the build up to this weekend’s race in Montreal.

We are confident of performing well on this track that demands a lot from the engine and history has shown you need power, performance and protection to be able to survive this race.

From our side, we’ve been working hard back at the ExxonMobil R&D facility in New Jersey to prepare some improvements to our Esso Synergy race fuel and Mobil 1 motor oil planned for this year. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing those Bulls take the fight to the leading pack this weekend.”

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing will be fighting for victory in this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, taking place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on June 8-10.

Stop by the Esso activation in the Parc Zone for your chance to beat the teams’ world record pit stop time of 1.92 seconds on the Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge.
