The FIM MX3 World Championship and EMX2 European Championship will continue this weekend in Heinola, Finland. After the long travel from Chile MX3 riders had a free weekend. At the same time some of the young EMX2 riders were competing at the MX2 Junior World Championship.
Heinola is a city in the Province of Southern Finland, around 140 kilometres from the Finnish capital Helsinki. The local club »Heinolan Moottorikerho Ry« was founded in 1953. In their history they have been organized many big and important events; European and World Championship events in motocross, enduro and snowcross. This year the biggest happening on their race track will be the FIM MX3 World Championship and EMX2 European Championship events.
The MX3 riders will clashing with similar weather conditions as they had in Chile. In Finland there are not really the summer temperatures at the moment. More hot is the battle for the prestige title. Sven Breugelmans (KTM) had tasted the delight of the red plate only in Chile, because Cristian Beggi (Honda) conquered the top of the Championship, again. Italian rider is resolved to continue with the victorius riding.
He would like to keep the first position till the last event and take his first World Championship Title. But he knows that there are also other riders with the same wishes. Of course one of them is Breugelmans, who had some bad luck at the last event and he still did not say the last word in the hunting of the top. The second and maybe the most danger rider for Beggi's title is French rider Christophe Martin (Husqvarna).
With the persevering riding and constant results he is still the third rider in the MX3 Championship Classification with only nine points behind Breugelmans. The top three riders are so close, that four events before the end of the season all of them are still candidates for the Championship top. Also some MX1 GP riders announced their presence in Finland, while they does not have the event this weekend.
Completely different is the situation in the EMX2 European Championship Classification, where French rider Valentin Teillet (KTM) is leading the Championship for big 79 points. All the best three riders are coming from France. While Teillet is reliably on the top, there is more interesting the battle for the second position. Loic Rombaut (Kawasaki) and Loic Larrieu (Kawasaki) are separated for only five points.
Ceriel Klein Kromhof (KTM) from Netherland, who is on the seventh position in the Championship Classification, is very good prepared in the last part of the season. He was third at the last event in Slovakia and a week ago he became the MX2 Junior World Vice Champion.
In the Classification he is too far from the top positions, but he can take some points to the best riders and make Championship more variegated. Riders for the FIM MX3 World Championship and EMX2 European Championship will start their Finnish event on Saturday with the Free and Qualifying Practices.
