MX3 - The big success for the Team Husqvarna Sima

The eleventh event for the FIM MX3 World Championship brought the new big success to the team Husqvarna Sima. French riders Thomas Allier and Christophe Martin clinched the double victory in Sverepec, Slovakia.

The weather almost held out. The day was sunny and warm. It started to rain at the end of the second race, but there were only some minutes before the finish. The same as the last year, many spectators were shouting for the riders around the race track. Thomas Allier was the winner of the first race. He had the most successful start and he was leading more than half of the first race. Then Christophe Martin passed him. It looked that Martin will took all the 25 points, but just in the last lap Allier came in front and stole the victory to his team colleague. The first race was successful for the home Slovak rider Martin Michek (Honda), who finished on the third position.

Belgian rider Patrick Caps (Kawasaki) won the second race. It was one of the biggest success' for the Caps, who is on the sixth position in the MX3 World Championship Classification. He was not close to the fastest riders after the start. In the continuation he became closer to the leader Allier and won the second race. Allier was behind to Caps all the time but this time Belgian rider was faster. The third was Martin. Fourth was Saso Kragelj (Yamaha), who got the podium on the previous event.

The winner of the Slovakian event was Allier, Martin was second. Third was Caps, fourth was Chech rider Martin Zerava (Honda), who won the Slovakian event in the last season. Home rider Michek finished the top five. The new MX3 Championship leader Sven Breugelmans (KTM) did not finish the second race and he lost many points against Cristian Beggi (Honda). Beggi finished on the eighth position. The difference between them now is only five points. It means that the next event in Chile will be very important for both of them. Beggi has another dangerous rival. After good results from the last events Christophe Martin now is only 21 points behind the second position.

The riders who will participate at the twelfth event in the Chile, had already prepare their bikes for the long overseas transport. They will mostly start to travel a week before the event. All of them are very excited and they are expecting the interesting event.

Rider's comments:

1st – THOMAS ALLIER: »The race track was very short. It was my first time here in Slovakia. I did two very good races and of course I am satisfited with the new victory and the podium. The second race was more difficult, it started to rain. Anyway I was second and I won the event. The next weekend I will take some more time for my family and I will try to relax and to recover before the Chilean event.«

2nd – CHRISTOPHE MARTIN: »It think today it was a successful day for our Husqvarna team, we took the two best positions. I was here on this race track already the previous season, that was not so good, as I got the injury. I like more the renovated race track and for me it was not difficult to accustomed on it. Now I will have one free weekend and then I can not wait to go to the Chile.«

3rd – PATRICK CAPS: »I am very satisfied with the result and also with my riding. I hope it is not my last podium. Before the season I was not planning to compete the whole Championship, but I have some sponsors, that want to see me in the MX3 World Championship more often.

I have the contract to compete in the Belgian Championship and at the moment I do not know if I will participate at the all MX3 events till the end. I will not go to the Chile because it is not easy to find the good sponsor. While other riders will be at the Chilean event, I will do some more practice at home.«
