Riders from the KTM JM Racing Team were dominating in the Qualifying Practices at the FIM MX3 World Championship and EMX2 European Championship events in Denmark.
While in the EMX2 European Championship the new European Champion can be known already after tomorrow's race, in the FIM MX3 World Championship three riders are still trying to finish on the top. The Qualifying Practices were taking place in the warm weather conditions with some clouds in the air. The 1610 metres long race track was the most fortunate for the KTM riders.
The winner of the last event for the FIM MX3 World Championship Sven Breugelmans (KTM) was the fastest also in the Qualifying Practice in Denmark. He likes sandy race tracks. The race track in Randers is one of those. This weekend Breugelmans will compete with the red front plate, after he lost it at the Chilean event. It looks like the last Finnish victory gave him even more self confidence.
He said: »The Qualifying Practice was nothing special. In the First Free Practice we were testing the bike settings like usually. After we made some little changes with suspensions and in the Qualifying Practice I did not have any problems. The suspensions will be very important in the race. The race track is good, for me it could be even more sandy.« Other two candidates for the Championship Title were not so fast in the Qualifying Practice. Christian Beggi (Honda) was seventh and Christophe Martin (Husqvarna) had only the 16th fastest time.
Martin said: »The race track is very narrow. Today I did not have a good feeling. I do not like the ground very much, but the conditions are the same for everyone and this is not an excuse. Tomorrow it will be the new and more important day, so my position from the Qualifying Practice is not playing the speciall part for my result
.« Before this race Beggi is only two points behind Breugelmans and tomorrow he can not afford the mistake if he wants to stay in the game for the Title. Spanish rider Alvaro Lozano (KTM) was second, Antty Pyrhonen (Honda) from Finland was third, Kristof Salaets (Honda) from Belgium was fourth and the fastest home Danish rider in the Qualifying Practice was Nicolai Marcher Hansen (Yamaha) on the fifth position.
In the EMX2 European Championship there were two Qualifying groups. In the first group the Championship leader Valentin Teillet (KTM) did the fastest time. For him tomorrow the race will have the big importance. If he would finish for more then ten points in front of French rider Loic Rombaut (Kawasaki), he can become the European Champion already two events before the end. Valentin Teillet: »I did the fastest lap in my fifth attempt.
When the Qualifying Practice was close to the end, I was riding even faster, but I crashed and I did not improve my time. The race track is good and also difficult. The ground is very different, at some parts there is soft and deep sand, at the other parts the race track is hard.« Second was Slovenian rider Klemen Gercar (Yamaha) and third was home rider Rasmus Jorgensen (Suzuki).
In the EMX2 Qualifying Group B Danish rider Nikolaj Larsen (Suzuki) did the fastest time, what is very promising for the home organizers and specially spectators. Larsen said: »I like the race track. At the beginning of the Qualifying Practice I did one fast lap, then I returned in the mechanic zone, where my mechanic gave me some advices. It helped me because after I did the fastest lap of the day and I am satisfied with it.
For tomorrow I hope I will have two good starts, what will be very important, because the race track is narrow. In continuation I wish to have also two good races, what would bring me the podium at the home race.« He was faster then two French, second Loic Rombaut and third Axel Alletru (KTM). Tomorrow's good weather can bring to Randers lots of spectators and the podium of the home rider.
