04.09.2008: The Nascar Foundation takes to the track at Richmond International Raceway

WHAT: The NASCAR Foundation is inviting fans to participate in the first ever NASCAR Foundation Track Walk at Richmond International Raceway.

NASCAR fans will take to the track on Saturday, Sept. 6th when The NASCAR Foundation Track Walk comes to Richmond International Raceway. The Track Walk is a partnership between The NASCAR Foundation and Richmond International Raceway Cares, who supports a variety of charitable organizations in the Richmond, Va. area.

Proceeds raised will benefit Richmond International Raceway Cares and The NASCAR Foundation.

Registration is $35 at the track and children under 14 walk for free with a paying adult. Registration booth is located outside Gate 70 near Turn 4.

BACKGROUND: The NASCAR Foundation Track Walks Presented by "Officially Licensed NASCAR Race Track Pasta & Cheese" are designed to give NASCAR fans the chance to walk around a track and experience the race track from a different perspective. Events coincide with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event dates so that both local community members and race fans can participate. The 2008 event calendar has been announced and Track Walks are scheduled for Las Vegas Motor Speedway (March 2); Texas Motor Speedway (April 6);

Dover International Speedway (May 31); New Hampshire Motor Speedway (June 28); Pocono Raceway (August 2); Bristol Motor Speedway (Aug. 23); Richmond International Raceway (Sept. 6); Lowe’s Motor Speedway (Oct. 11); and Atlanta Motor Speedway (Oct. 26).
