Kenseth makes it four straight Ford 400 wins for Ford Racing

· Matt Kenseth won his second race of the season and took the checkered flag for the 16th time in his NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series career with today’s victory.

· Today’s win was the seventh of the year for Ford, which is one more than last season.

· Today also marks the fourth straight win for Ford in the Ford 400 with Kenseth following up on Greg Biffle’s three straight triumphs.

· Ford has won five of the six Ford 400’s since the race took that name in 2002, and all five have been courtesy of Roush Fenway Racing.

· Kurt Busch won the first Ford 400 in 2002 while driving the No. 97 Ford before Biffle won each of the last three. The only non-Ford to win the event was Bobby Labonte in 2003.

· Ford has now won 583 all-time NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races.

· The win was Fusion’s 13th all-time NNC triumph after debuting at Daytona last year.

ROBBIE REISER, Crew Chief – No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion – VICTORY LANE INTERVIEW – "First of all, I’d like to congratulate Jimmie Johnson and that whole race team. Man, did we come on at the end of the season. What a performance by our team.

We got so far behind in this chase and it looked like we weren’t gonna get out of 12th there for a while, but the way we came on at the end of the year it’s just a privilege to be a part of this 17 bunch. The DeWalt guys have been on the money on pit road all season long.

This is the end of my DeWalt segment if you want to say that, but I’ll be back to work tomorrow morning working on race cars and trying to help them win another championship and help Roush Fenway win a championship.

What an honor and a privilege to work with Matt Kenseth and that whole group and I’m really looking forward to Chip Bolin taking this team over and doing a lot better job than I did."

WHAT EMOTIONS DO YOU HAVE NOW? "I’m not a real emotional guy. I enjoy racing. I love to race. My dad brought me up that way. That’s who I am, I’m a racer."

MATT KENSETH – No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion – VICTORY LANE INTERVIEW – "I have a great race team. I really feel like I let these guys down. We lost a lot of close races this year, so it feels great to win one and win a close one. Congratulations to Jimmie and Rick Hendrick and those guys.

I want to thank DeWalt, USG, R&L Truck Carriers and all of our sponsors that make this happen. It was an awesome run today."

WHAT ABOUT THAT LAST RESTART. DID YOU THINK SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR? "I used to pull that one on Robbie all the time. They say I’ve got a big imagination, but I really did think it and whenever you’re leading you always think that, but I must have got a big piece of debris on the right-front tire. It started shaking a little bit, but as soon as I got to one it rubbed off. So it was a pretty good day today. It was a lot of fun."

WHAT WILL YOU MISS ABOUT ROBBIE? "It’s cool to go out with a win. I’m gonna miss working with him on Sundays, but he’s not going far. He’s going to manage the shop and I really think that his presence is really gonna be a big plus for everybody at Roush Fenway Racing. I think it’ll make everybody stronger. I’m gonna miss him doing it, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and looking forward to making the company stronger."

ARE YOU TAKING THIS CAR HOME NOW? "I don’t know. I blew the quarter-panel off it, so at least we don’t have to race it again."

CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Finished 5th) – "It was a good effort. We had to in order to stay in the top 10 in points with the way guys were running, so it was a good effort by my guys. I’m proud of everybody and I’m excited about next year."

IS THAT WHY YOU TOOK TWO TIRES – TO GET TRACK POSITION AND ENSURE A TOP 10 POINTS FINISH? "Yeah, we were trying just to keep the track position going. If we wouldn’t have had the caution, we were hoping it would help us out. Congratulations to Matt. It’s cool that a Ford won. It’s good."

A GOOD TOP-5 FINISH. "That was fun. I’m glad to see a Ford Fusion in Victory Lane. That’s cool for Matt and those guys. It’s a good way to start the winter with one of our cars winning, so congratulations to Jimmie. We worked really hard. It was a good run. I wish we could have gone a little faster at the end, but that’s all we had."

YOU WON THE BUSCH TITLE LAST NIGHT AND A GOOD FINISH IN THE CUP POINTS. "Yeah, we’re going to New York, that’s good. It’s been a great year. We’ve got wins in both series, a championship in the Busch Series and those wins are tough to come by. I’m just very proud of my guys. Hopefully, we’ll have a little bit better luck next season. We’ll be back. I just can’t thank everybody enough for their support. It means the world to me."

DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Finished 10th) – "We’re happy. We’ve had good Ford Fusions the last month, but we just haven’t been able to finish them off. It feels good to finish where we deserved. This Cup racing, just being fast is about half of it.

You’ve got to learn how to race them and you’ve got to learn how to be fast on restarts for the long run and I thought we were pretty good tonight. We can always be better.

There are still some things to work on where I need to be better, but that’s gonna be the difference between finishing 20th every week and 10th every week."

RICKY RUDD – No. 88 Snickers Ford Fusion (Finished 21st) – "We kind of got messed up on our pit stop. We short-pitted and the caution came out. We were probably a 15th to 17th-place car and we ended up like 21st, but all in all it was just a mediocre day for us. We struggled all day trying to stay on the lead lap. The finish we got, we probably deserved four or five spots better but not much better."

WHAT ARE YOUR EMOTIONS NOW? "Everyone is asking me that, but I guess I’m such a cold-hearted guy because it really didn’t affect me. Right now it’s probably starting to sink in a little bit that this is the last time I’ll be in Miami in a race car – at least in a Cup car for sure.

Who knows what the future holds, but I’ve got no regrets. I’ve enjoyed it for 32 years. A lot of people ask me, ‘What’s that special moment? Any special moments that highlight that career?’ And I have to go back and the Brickyard 400 win was a pretty neat deal as an owner and a driver, but, really, I think the bigger picture is all the people I’ve met in the garage over the years and racing against the best drivers in the world.

The young guys, the old guys, I’ve seen a lot of guys and a lot of race car drivers and guys that I’ve had a lot of respect for over the years, and I’ve had a chance to race these guys. It’s time to hang it up and call it quits and as far as emotional, not really. I’m glad this chapter is closed to be honest."

DAVID GILLILAND – No. 38 M&M’s Ford Fusion (Finished 32nd) – "We had a great car. Our M&M’s Ford Fusion was strong. We got caught with the yellow and went a lap down at the beginning, but none of the guys gave up and we worked our way and fought our way back up into the top 15.

Our car as just getting better and better and I got loose getting into one there and got in the fence a little bit. That ruined our day. We had to come in and pull the fenders out, but I’m real proud of all our guys. Todd Parrott and all the guys gave me a great race car this weekend.

They’ve given me great race cars all year long, so I’m real, real thankful for that. I’m gonna miss the M&M’s guys and Robert and Ricky, so it’s kind of a weird day, but, overall, it was alright. I learned a lot and now we’ll get ready for next year."
