The Subaru World Rally Team gained itself a valuable extra few days in preparation for next weekend's Propecia Rally New Zealand, arriving at the event's Mystery Creek service park first in the 'race' to prepare for the start of the event.
Its containers left the Perth service park on the evening of Sunday 30 October, alongside those for ISC-T (timing equipment), MRTC (radio suppliers) and the WRC TV set-up, all handled by YA Logistics.
All containers headed for Melbourne on a road train and arrived on 1 November, where they were loaded onto a container ship bound for New Zealand. The ship itself left the following day and docked on 7 November.
Two days later, the containers were delivered to the Mystery Creek service park, having cleared customs and the agricultural check, ensuring no diseases are brought into the country.
This gives Subaru almost a full week to prepare its cars for the next round of the championship, hot off the back of a strong showing in Australia. Sporting Director Luis Moya has already predicted a challenging time ahead for all the crews, thanks to the long fast stages and reckons that getting the tyre choice right for the springtime conditions will be key to success. The team is targeting a top-five finish for both cars.
