B-Quik Racing ready to resume TSS action at Bira Circuit

07.09.2016: B-Quik Racing heads to Bira International Circuit this weekend with a

B-Quik Racing heads to Bira International Circuit this weekend with a full lineup of cars as the second half of the Thailand Super Series (TSS) season kicks off at the longtime ‘home’ of Thai motorsport, which this year is also celebrating the occasion of its 30th anniversary.

We will be running five cars in Super Car, three of those in GTM and a further two in GTC. As well as those top-level entries we will also have our usual pair of entries in Super Eco and that means a very busy weekend lies ahead, especially as we will be targeting points and podiums.

In Super Car GTM Henk J. Kiks and Daniel Bilski will drive our two Audi R8 LMS Cup entries as usual. Daniel is currently the best placed having made four trips to the podium from the five races so far and that’s put the Australian onto 56 points and in third place in the Drivers’ classification, just 6 points adrift of the second placed driver.

Team Owner Henk meanwhile has totted up 26 points and after a couple of tough races the Dutchman will be looking to claw his way up the points standings while we need all our drivers scoring high for the Teams’ classification where we are in third place.

In terms of the GTM Teams’ championship attack Henk and Daniel will be capably supported this weekend by Shaun Varney who will be driving our Porsche 997 GT3 Cup and after technical problems kept him out of the season opener before he made a one-off appearance in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia during the last round he will finally make his long delayed debut in Super Car GTM.

The young New Zealander clearly has a lot of pace and promise so we’re looking forward to seeing just what he can unlock at Bira Circuit, which will be a completely new experience for him.

In Super Car GTC we will run our two recently acquired Porsche 996 GT3 Cups for Attapot Sriprom and Thomas Raldorf. Attapot has graduated this year from our Super Eco programme so it’s a big challenge for the young driver to make his mark in Super car while getting to grips with the characteristics of Porsche’s 996.

So far so good and he’s finished all four races in the points with those promising results including two trips to the podium. We are looking for more of the same from Attapot at Bira, a circuit he knows well.

Thomas had been due to drive the other 996 in Buriram however a suspected engine problem sidelined the Dane but this weekend he should be able to debut the car and we look forward to a trouble free run for this highly experienced competitor who knows Bira Circuit inside out and includes a previous overall Super Car win here on his lengthy racing CV.

Finally to Super Eco and our Honda Brios will be in action in the hands of Narin Naeosathon and Sathaporn Veerachue. The pair were chosen to drive in TSS’s entry-level category this year following a rigorous ‘driver search’ programme that was conducted within B-Quik.

They have done very well so far as they get to grips with racing and so we look forward to their learning curve continuing this weekend and their skills improving.

Henk J. Kiks (#26 Audi R8 LMS Cup, Super Car GTM):
“It’s going to be a very busy weekend for the team as we chase results across three categories. It’s always good to return to Bira Circuit, it’s where everyone’s career start from but it’s pretty tricky and tight so we also have to also be careful.

We need to pick up points here as after Bira our attention will turn to the final two big events of our year, Bangsaen and the Sepang 12 Hours. I’m also pleased that Shaun and Thomas will make their overdue debuts and we look forward to supporting them to deliver the results they are very capable of delivering.

I’ve had a couple of tricky races so far this year but expect to turn that around and I will be aiming to be on the podium this weekend.”

Daniel Bilski (#27 Audi R8 LMS Cup, Super Car GTM):
“It seems an age since the last TSS race weekend, so I can’t wait to get to Bira. It’s been a busy time since the last TSS weekend.

I’ve raced in the Audi R8 LMS Cup and the Asia Classic Car Challenge recently so I feel race-ready and can’t wait for the event to start. Bira Circuit will suit the Porsches and Ferraris very well, as well as the Holden, so it will be a very tough event.

I’ve not raced the Audi at Bira, so there will be a big learning curve for me, but I have every confidence in the team and the car, so I’m sure we’ll be competitive. It’s a vital weekend for the Championship but we are primed and ready to take on all challengers.”

Shaun Varney (#14 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup, Super Car GTM)
: I'm really looking forward to competing it the next Thailand Super Series round at Bira. It will be my first time at Bira but my second round in TSS.

I missed the last round due to a conflict with racing Porsche Carrera cup but I am confident I can jump back in the 997 and give the front runners a run for there money!”

Attapot Sriprom (#99 Porsche 996 GT3 Cup, Super Car GTC): “
It’s been good to get to the finish with the Porsche while learning about it, the car has been reliable and good to drive so far. My objective for the weekend is to push for points and hopefully make it onto the podium

Thomas Raldorf (#25 Porsche 996 GT3 Cup, Super Car GTC):
“It will be a very interesting weekend for me at Bira in the GTC class I think because it’s a track I know well and the team have as always prepared the car well. I will have the chance to do some testing leading up to the weekend and can get to know the car better before the races on Saturday and Sunday.

With the GTC class being split from the GTM class I think we will have some good racing going on in the class and I intend to push the car as hard as I can.”
