Tolles Fahrerfeld am Finalwochenende der ADAC TCR Germany am Hockenheimring (30. September bis 2. Oktober): Im größten Feld der bisherigen Saison entscheidet sich der spannende Titelkampf zwischen Favorit Josh Files (25, Großbritannien, Target Competition) im Honda Civic und Herausforderer Hari Proczyk (40, Österreich, HP Racing) im Seat Leon.


Acht Gaststarter, darunter vier Exemplare des neuen Opel Astra, der bereits beim Lauf auf dem Nürburgring ein starkes Debüt in der ADAC TCR Germany feierte, sorgen beim Finale für ein stattliches Feld von 25 Teilnehmern.
 





Zum zweiten Mal in der Premierensaison der ADAC TCR Germany ist Opel im Feld der Tourenwagenserie vertreten. In zwei der vier Opel Astra TCR gehen mit Jordi Oriola (20, Spanien, DG Sport Competition) und Pierre-Yves Corthals (40, Belgien, DG Sport Competition) Piloten an den Start, die bereits beim Opel-Debüt am Nürburgring Anfang August ihre Duftmarken setzen konnten und Opel eine gelungene Premiere bescherten.


Oriola belegte im ersten Rennen Rang zwei hinter Files, Corthals kam als Dritter ebenfalls auf das Siegerpodest. Wie bereits am Nürburgring, möchten beide sicher auch am Hockenheimring ein entscheidendes Wort um die Siege mitreden.
 



Josh Files sollte also gewarnt sein vor einem starken Feld, das sich und ihm sicher nichts schenken wird. Zumal ihm im eigenen Team Target Competition zwei junge Schweden Konkurrenz machen wollen.


 Neben seinem Teamkollegen Jürgen Schmarl (42, Österreich) werden beim Saisonfinale Dennis Strandberg (23, Schweden) und der junge Simon Larsson (19, Schweden) am Start sein. Während Schmarl und Strandberg einen Honda steuern, greift Larsson wie bereits in Zandvoort in einem Seat an.
 

Auch Hari Proczyk, Pilot und Teamchef in Personalunion, hat sein Team HP Racing zum Saisonfinale erweitert. Im zweiten Seat Leon TCR nimmt sein Landsmann Lukas Niedertscheider (21, Österreich) erstmals Platz.
 

Zwei neue Fahrer präsentiert auch das Schweizer Team Topcar. Neben Ronny Jost (28, Schweiz), der zwei sechste Plätze in Oschersleben und am Red Bull Ring als beste Ergebnisse aufweisen kann, steuern die Zwillingsbrüder Hans Schori (55, Schweiz) und Jörg Schori (55, Schweiz) zwei weitere Seat Leon.
 



Mit der einzigen Frau und dem jüngsten Piloten im Fahrerfeld tritt das Team Lubner Motorsport an. Jasmin Preisig (24, Schweiz, Lubner Motorsport) ist zum zweiten Mal dabei.


 Sie hatte ebenfalls schon am Nürburgring erste Erfahrungen mit dem Opel Astra machen können. Mike Beckhusen (16, Berlin), Deutschlands jüngster Tourenwagenpilot, sitzt am Steuer eines weiteren Opel.


"Wir konnten bei den Testtagen einiges ausprobieren. Jasmin und Mike sind sehr konzentriert gefahren und ich bin total begeistert von unseren Opel Astra TCR-Fahrzeugen", sagte Teamchef Mirko Lubner optimistisch. "Wir gehen gut vorbereitet in das Finale auf dem Hockenheimring."
 


 
Sohn von Ex-Rallye-Weltmeister Kankkunen erneut dabei


 
Auch für den Sohn des viermaligen Rallye-Weltmeisters Juha Kankkunen heißt es, weiter Erfahrung im Tourenwagensport zu sammeln.


 Niko Kankkunen (18, Finnland) hatte Ende Juli am Red Bull Ring in Österreich seine ersten Runden in der ADAC TCR Germany gedreht und wird in Hockenheim in einem Seat erneut unter der Flagge des Teams LMS Racing vom aktuellen Gesamt-Dritten Antti Buri (27, Finnland) starten.
