Der 54-jährige Kfz-Mechanikermeister Martin Zellhofer (18.7.1964) der in St. Georgen an der Ybbs in Niederösterreich sehr erfolgreich ein Autohaus mit den Markenschwerpunkten SUZUKI und KIA betreibt, hat sich auch schon seit vielen Jahren dem Motorsport verschrieben.



Dort feierte er viele persönliche Erfolge wie einen Staatsmeistertitel im Rallyecross und Staatsmeistertitel im Rallyesport in der Gruppe N und in der Division II. Dazu kamen weitere Titel für ZM-Racing im Rallyesport durch Hermann Neubauer, Sohn Christoph Zellhofer und Michael Böhm. Einmalig auch sein volles Engagement im SUZUKI Motorsport Cup, der heuer bereits in seine 16. Saison geht.



Um sich aber für diese Erfolge auch persönlich zu belohnen hat sich Max, wie er kurz von seinen Freunden genannt wird, drei Schwerpunkte ausgesucht. Das war im Jahre 1994 sein erster Start beim Rallye WM-Lauf in Schweden. Leider schied er mit dem 120 PS starken Suzuki Swift auf Grund eines Getriebeschadens vorzeitig aus. Geblieben ist aber die Faszination, die Begeisterung und der Spaß, die damals in Schweden herrschte.




Anlässlich seines 50. Geburtstages den Max Zellhofer im Jahre 2014 feierte, war es sein Wunsch mit finanzieller Unterstützung seiner Freunde, ein Jahr später seinen zweiten Start in Schweden zu absolvieren. Diesmal wurde ein SUZUKI Swift Super Sport 1600 vorbereitet, mit dem Max Zellhofer das vorgegebene Ziel erreichte und den 37. Platz in der Gesamtwertung und Rang Zwei in der Klasse RC3 belegte.



Nun steht bald der 55. Geburtstag von Max Zellhofer bevor. Und wieder führt der Weg vom 14. Februar bis 17. Februar zum dritten Start bei der zur WM-zählenden Schweden Rallye. Diesmal wird ein Ford Fiesta R5 als fahrbarer Untersatz dienen. Für die richtige Ansage wird Jürgen Heigl sorgen.
