Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia welcomes P1 Racing Fuels as official 2019 supplier

03.04.2019: P1 Racing Fuels has become Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia’s Official Fuel Supplier for the upcoming season, which begins at Sepang in Malaysia this weekend with a bumper 30

P1 Racing Fuels has become Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia’s Official Fuel Supplier for the upcoming season, which begins at Sepang in Malaysia this weekend with a bumper 30-car entry.

The company is well known across Europe as a full-service provider with an in-house capability to not only formulate, manufacture and distribute high-quality fuels but also provide on-event refuelling and analysis.

Consistency is of primary importance to P1, which works closely with vehicle and engine manufacturers as well as series organisers and teams to ensure its products are designed in accordance with the needs of their application.

Indeed, whilst many racing fuels are based on conventional refined crude oil, which – by default – contain a significant percentage of impurities, P1’s products are engineered on a molecular level and produced from the highest purity chemical components. Thus each and every batch of fuel is identical, allowing calibration engineers to maximise engine performance to the optimum level without risk of failure due to variances in the fuel’s composition.

P1’s expertise arrives in Asia on a large scale for the first time in 2019 when it supplies custom fuels designed to meet the needs of the continent’s biggest multi-class GT championship, which stages 12 races across six circuits in five countries.

Eight manufacturers – Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Honda, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche – are confirmed for Asia’s portion of the SRO Motorsports Group-organised Blancpain GT World Challenge, which also features sprint championships in Europe and America.

Benjamin Franassovici, Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia General Manager
: “I’m delighted to welcome P1 Racing Fuels to Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia for the upcoming season. Our teams work tirelessly to prepare their race-tuned supercars so it’s imperative that, as the championship organiser, SRO Motorsports Group provides them with the very best performance fuels and service. That’s exactly what P1’s products offer. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with P1 Racing Fuels.”

Martin Popilka, P1 Racing Fuels CEO:
“Our partnership with SRO underlines our long-term commitment to providing superior fuels and supporting global championships with value-added services that enable their growth. I’m excited about P1 becoming the official fuel supplier for Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia especially due to our increased focus in supplying racing fuels as well as reference fuels to automotive OEMs in the region.”

Fans around the world can watch the championship’s unrestricted qualifying and race coverage with English commentary live this Saturday and Sunday on Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia’s Facebook page and website, plus SRO’s GT World Youtube channel. The same coverage, albeit with dedicated Mandarin commentary, will be streamed live on China’s biggest online platforms, including the likes of YouKu, Panda TV, Huya, SMG and DouYu.

Fox Sports will also broadcast live coverage of both races across Asia and Australia.

Meanwhile, live timing from every session can be found on blancpain-gt-world-challenge-asia.com/live.
