There are 23 British drivers and 7 British teams running 13 cars for the local fans to support.

LMP2: 18 Cars in a high class LMP2 field

Russian team G-Drive Racing is leading the LMP2 championship by 16 points with Dutch driver Job Van Uitert and reigning champion Roman Rusinov leading the driver’s championship. They will be joined by newly crowned FIA Formula E champion Jean-Eric Vergne in the no26 Aurus.

Anglo American team United Autosports will once again be fielding two cars, with British drivers in both. In the no22 Oreca Portuguese ace Filipe Albuquerque will be joined by 20-year-old Phil Hanson.

In the no32 United Autosports Ligier, the British driver Will Owen will team up with Alex Brundle and Ryan Cullen.

Manchester’s Ben Hanley, who won the opening ELMS round at Le Castellet with Australian James Allen and Swede Henrik Hedman will once again be looking for the top step with his teammates in the no21 DragonSpeed Oreca.

Former F1 driver Will Stevens will be in the no23 Panis Barthez Competition Oreca 07, while former 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP2 champion Richard Bradley will be in the no30 Duqueine Engineering Oreca.

There is one all British team on the LMP2 grid. Carlin made their ELMS debut at Le Castellet in April with the only Dallara-Gibson in the field. Driving duties will be taken up by former ELMS Champion Harry Tincknell, Jack Manchester and Ben Barnicoat.

British team BHK Motorsport will field the no35 Oreca-Gibson with Garry Findlay.

All of the 18 LMP2 cars are powered by the British built Gibson engine, the manufacturer is based at Repton in Derbyshire.

LMP3: Britain’s Nigel Moore and Germany’s Martin Hippe Lead the Championship

Three podiums in three races, including victory in Spain last month, has put the no13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier-Nissan of Nigel Moore and Martin Hippe at the head of the LMP3 Championship table with a 14-point lead over their nearest rivals.

There are four British teams running 7 cars, half of the 14 car LMP3 grid to be exact. There are 10 British drivers amongst the 35 LMP3 drivers taking part in the 4 Hours of Silverstone.

United Autosports will field two LMP3 cars in addition to their two LMP2 entries. The double LMP3 championship winning team will have Wayne Boyd in the no2 Ligier and 2016 LMP3 Champion Christian England in the no3 car.

360 Racing will also field two Ligier-Nissan with the no5 car featuring James Winslow, and Ross Kaiser and Terrence Woodward in the no6 machine.

Nielsen Racing also have two cars, with one Norma and one Ligier, both cars with  British drivers.  The no7 Norma M30 will be driven by Tony Wells and Colin Noble, while James Littlejohn and Nobuya Yamanaka will be in the no8 Ligier JS P3.

Reigning LMP3 champions RLR MSport will field a single Ligier JS P3 with Martin Rich joining his two Danish teammates.

LMGTE: Porsche v Ferrari

Seven cars make up the LMGTE grid with former ELMS LMGTE champions and 24 Hours of Le Mans class winners JMW Motorsport, who are based around the corner from Silverstone, looking for home glory in their distinctive Ferrari F488 GTE EVO.

Two British drivers will be on the LMGTE grid amongst the 21 who will take part in the fourth race of the 2019 season. The no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari will see Britons Duncan Cameron and Aaron Scott team up again with Irish driver Matt Griffin.

The no51 Luzich Racing Ferrari is currently leading the championship with Alessandro Pier Guidi, Fabien Lavergne and Nicklas Nielsen on 65 points with the no77 Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche on 50 points.

The UK round of the 2019 season will feature the European Le Mans Series alongside the opening round of the Season 8 of the FIA World Endurance Championship, giving the fans the opportunity to see two of the best Endurance Racing championships in action at the same venue. The 4 Hours of Silverstone will take place on Saturday 31 August and is Round 4 of the 2019 ELMS season.
