TCR Australia's fifth event at Winton was in favour of Will Brown who finished second in Saturday's Race 1 and won both Sunday's races. As Dylan O'Keeffe suffered a setback in Race 2, Brown's leading margin in the standings grew to 116 points.

André Heimgartner led Race 1 at the start, but John Martin, Will Brown and Jason Bright overtook him. There was contact between Martin and Brown, Bright seized the opportunity and took the lead, while Martin retired with a broken wheel. In the remainder of the race Bright held on to win by just under a second from Brown, with O’Keefe third.

In Race 2, Brown overtook pole sitter Bright and kissed goodbye to the rest of the field. Bright defended the second place from the assaults of Nathan Morcom, Aaron Cameron and O’Keeffe, but the latter suffered from a flat front tyre and pitted to replace it. Brown won from Bright, while Cameron passed Morcom for P3 in the final lap.

Brown led Race 3 from the start to the end, vainly chased by Cameron and Russell Ingall who finished second and third. Nathan Morcom passed D’Alberto for the fourth position, while O’Keeffe recovered to finish eighth after starting 15th.

The championship will resume on September 20th/22nd at Sandown.
