On the final stage of the BP Ultimate Acropolis Rally - the Olympic Stadium superspecial - Marcus Gronholm claimed the rally victory over rival and drivers' points leader Sebastien Loeb. Gronholm and Loeb went head-to-head on the final stage, with Gronholm taking the victory by 2.5 seconds over Loeb. Gronholm's overall lead was two minutes 26.8 seconds.

The BP Ultimate Acropolis Rally has been tough on all the cars and competitors, and for once, an event has actually worked up a sweat on reigning FIA World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb. Though Mikko Hirvonen completed the second stage of the morning with only the seventh quickest time, the Finn remained in third overall, poised to capture his second consecutive FIA World Rally Championship podium position of the season.
