On the final stage of the BP Ultimate Acropolis Rally - the Olympic Stadium superspecial - Marcus Gronholm claimed the rally victory over rival and drivers' points leader Sebastien Loeb. Gronholm and Loeb went head-to-head on the final stage, with Gronholm taking the victory by 2.5 seconds over Loeb. Gronholm's overall lead was two minutes 26.8 seconds.

Austrian driver Manfred Stohl ended his BP Ultimate Acropolis Rally in dramatic style when he rolled over and out on the opening stage of Leg Three.

The third and final day of the BP Ultimate Acropolis Rally saw Red Bull Skoda's Andreas Aigner start first on the road. Aigner went off at a tight left corner 6.5 kilometres into the stage, lost the front end, and was helped back onto the stage by spectators.

Gabriel Pozzo had been setting hot stage times for most of the BP Ultimate Rally Acropolis but the Argentine driver didn't mean for it to overheat the engine of his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9.

It was double trouble again for the Subaru World Rally Team. Only moments after Petter Solberg was forced into SupeRally by the careless driving of a road vehicle, his team-mate Chris Atkinson also fell by the wayside with a broken steering arm.

Dani Sordo's quick time was part of the reason for Manfred Stohl to lose a place on SS12 but the OMV Peugeot Norway's World Rally Car is suffering from a mysteriously ill engine.

Dani Sordo began the final stage of the morning's loop in ninth overall. Sordo drove hard through the 10th stage of the rally, and found himself in sixth overall at the end of the test. Sordo is now 9.4 seconds from fourth overall after claiming the sixth quickest time on the stage.
