In the second International GT Open race in Valencia, Scuderia Playteam Sarafree finished with one car in second place and one car in fourth at Valencia. The second race of the weekend turned out to be a strong one for the team which qualified in fifth (MaceratesiMontermini) and seventh (MassironiBusnelli) positions.
Race two only found its pace after the first driver change. Andrea Montermini replaced Maceratesi on lap 12 lap and despite the 20-second penalty, he rejoined the race in 15th position and kept climbing back in the classification and that allowed him to finish in fourth place eventually.
Meanwhile, Max Busnelli, who was a the wheel of the F430 n.3 was running in 15th position and pushed consistently hard to end up a comfortable second place overall.
Andrea Montermini commented, "Our guests visitors from the boat "Mascalzone Latino" brought us luck. It is incredible to finish in fourth place despite our penalty. Next time we will have no more penalty and it will be plain sailing. I want to thank my team and all the mechanics for achieving such a good and fantastic job. What a great job and great success. The car was so fantastically competitive today."
Mauro Massironi added: "We are so pleased with the results" continues Mauro Massironi(it): "I am sorry I had a contact with a competitor. It made me waste time and I lost one position.
We made a quick driver change. I risked nothing and was able to hand over the car to Max in good conditions. Our strategy paid off. I had a strong drive and this second place is really a good thank you."
