Sebastien Loeb won the last of the first leg's stages in Germany but it was Mikko Hirvonen who ran him closest, as the Finn's slick tyres worked on the dry tarmac, with the rain holding off for the final test. Dani Sordo took the win on stage six of the German event, as he did on the earlier run through this morning. He was less than 0.5sec quicker than team-mate Sebastien Loeb, with Toni Gardemeister third fastest, opening out the gap to Manfred Stohl. Loeb had to contend with a few kilometres of rain but as more cars came through the stage, the rain increased until it was raining from start to end.
