The Grand Prix of Canada offers a chance to win their seat to 40 fans
... in celebration of Formula 1's 40 years on Canadian soil
2007 edition of the Grand Prix of Canada marks the 40th anniversary of Formula 1's arrival on Canadian soil and, to celebrate the occasion, organizers have decided to offer 40 fans the chance to see free of charge the spectacular program of races at Montreal's Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on June 8, 9 and 10.
All those who have bought a grandstand ticket or do so by April 15 will have their names entered into a draw and 40 of them will be chosen to have the price of their seat reimbursed. In other words, for these 40 fortunate fans, attendance at the 2007 Grand Prix of Canada will cost them nothing.
For the Grand Prix of Canada, it is a way to reward the great loyalty of its numerous spectators and to thank them for choosing to be part of the 2007 edition, while at the same time helping to maintain the event's great tradition of popular success. The purchase of tickets for all categories of grandstands will make the fans eligible for the draw, which will be held on April 19. To find out more and consult the rules, one can visit the www.grandprix.ca website.
It was on August 27, 1967, that the Grand Prix of Canada officially entered the Formula 1 world championship history book following a 90-lap event held on the Mosport circuit, won by the Australian champion Jack Brabham, ahead of New Zealand's Denny Hulme and American Dan Gurney.
It is generally estimated that since that first edition, more than 2,500,000 spectators have attended the annual presentations of the Grand Prix of Canada, which has been held more often than any other championship round outside of Europe. Last year, 332,000 spectators passed through the turnstiles at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve to attend the 2006 Grand Prix.
Tickets to attend the next Grand Prix of Canada can be purchased by contacting 514-350-0000, between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. every day, or on-line any time at www.grandprix.ca
