Dani Sordo claimed the quickest time on the second stage of the day. Sordo, answering Mikko Hirvonen's challenge from the first stage of the day, increased his lead over Hirvonen to 7.7 seconds.

BP-Ford World Rally Team's Marcus Gronholm finished the stage with the second quickest time, but was only able to reduce Sebasiten Loeb's rally lead to 40.1 seconds. Loeb finished the stage with the third quickest time followed by Alex Bengue. Bengue and Xavier Pons are battling for control of fifth position, and he now sits just 16.0 seconds above Pons leading into the day's Service.

Hirvonen finished the stage with the fifth quickestin time followed by Pons. Stephane Sarrazin and Manfred continue the battle for seventh on the leaderboard and finished the stage with the seventh and eight quickest times respectively. Stohl leads Sarrazin by 31.7 seconds.

Brake problems which affected First Motorsport's Francois Duval in the first stage of today's leg were examined in service. A seal in a caliper failed on the front left brake. Stage six was one of the rougher stages of the rally and was hard work on tyres for many drivers. Petter Solberg came into service with tyres so worn that the canvas was visible through the thread.
